“Great day out!”

Owner description: Set in lush sub-tropical gardens, Newquay Zoo is home to more than 1,000 of the world's rare and exciting creatures. Just a short walk from Newquay's town centre and world famous surfing beaches, the Zoo is both one of Cornwall's most exciting visitor attractions and a leading conservation charity. It's the only place in Cornwall where you can see lions devour their lunch before taking a leisurely stroll through a tropical rainforest, surrounded by free flying birds. Keeper talks and animal feeds take place throughout the day but if you fancy an even closer animal encounter we offer visitors the chance to meet and feed our cheeky lemurs, friendly penguins and impossibly cute meerkats! See wildebeest, waterbuck, nyala antelope and zebra roaming in our African Savannah and enjoy some familiar faces in The Village Farm - one of our most popular exhibits which includes many children's favourites such as pot-bellied pigs, African pygmy goats, turkeys and striped squirrels. And if all that isn't enough to keep the kids amused, we also have activity trails, face painting, a children's play area, dragon maze...and much more. Besides enjoying a great family day out, when you visit Newquay Zoo you'll also be supporting our vital education, research and conservation work, all designed to protect endangered animals from extinction. We're playing a key role in the international effort to save animals through conservation breeding.

“Great day out!”
Reviewed March 3, 2014 via mobile

Had a great day out.... brilliant prices for entry, cafe and gift shop.
We were booked in to feed the penguins and absolutely loved it! Meeting Pickle the penguin and getting a souvenire pack to take home, would recommend the experience to anyone!!

“Our Grand children love it, and so do we”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

Having one of our grand children who had recently enjoyed being a zoo keeper for the day experience, this latest visit had the added benefit of lots of inside information she had gained so this visit took on a totally different tone. Despite the occasional heavy downpours the majority of the animals were very active and the keeper talks full of information adding to our "little experts" already abundant knowledge. The Lion feeding time was brilliant but watch out for the post meal time spraying and strand clear of the fence!!

“Lovely little zoo”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

I visited whilst on holiday with my husband and 13 year old son. It was surprisingly quiet considering it was half term but we spent a good four hours there. Some of the animals were asleep so we just went back and visited them later. The talks were very informative and to be given the opportunity to feed the penguins was a fabulous surprise. Our favourite animals on the day were the beautiful otters who were all extremely vocal and entertaining, the gorgeous red pandas (once they woke up) and the very entertaining penguins. Good little cafe, nice gift shop & friendly staff. Thanks for a great day! R,M & O

“Just a zoo.”
Reviewed February 19, 2014

Well, just like my title, "its just a zoo" there was nothing special about it, it was a very small zoo with not alot of aniamls me and my partner were in and out within 30 minutues and that was taking a good look at the animals, it was quite exspensive to get in and we were very disapointed
