Perfect for dog walkers... On a public footpath but great for everybody. The best cream tea's and panini's I have ever had.

Having read the other reviews we just had to visit and weren't dissapointed! We took a short walk from the beach along the footpath from the beach; about 20mins; and found the tea garden on the footpath just over the first tarmac road. The views from the garden are really stunning.

We had tea's coffees and baguettes. The portions were so generous we were unable to have the cake as we would have been unable to walk back!

The baguettes were fantastic, full of hot, melt in the mouth home cooked pork and apple sauce. We also had a brie, tomato, and red onion hot melt baguette. There was no limit to the selection of fillings and all for the one price. The quality could not be faulted. The tea and coffee were also of the top quality.

Again this is a must visit if only for the food alone. The only critisism is the name Menalhyl Tea Garden Please find another name so I can recommend you to my friends without having to look it up all the time!

We were really surprised by this hidden gem in North Cornwall. We were walking the Coastal Path
and detoured from Mawgan Porth towards St Mawgan. Just passed the holiday park we came across a discrete sign stating Tea Garden Open. From previous experience in the area we were not expecting much in the way of quality but were thirsty so decided to stop for a tea.

The tea garden was a lovely graveled area surrounded by beautiful views of the valley and free roaming chickens and turkeys. We took a seat and ordered a tea and a coffee. The tea arrived in a lovely tea pot and china cup (with extra hot water, enough for two large cups of strong tea), the coffee in a china mug. The cafe latte was amazing (as good as any I've had outside of Italy). On this revelation we decided to have some homemade cake.

Again wow! The cake we had was a lemon drizzle, it was light and really lemony(the portions were huge!)

We spoke to another couple who had the home reared pork ciabatta (it looked fantastic) who also could not believe how good the food and drinks were (and inexpensive)

We had to congratulate the owners Tony and Sandra. They informed us that all their meat and eggs were produced on the farm and that Sandra made all the cakes herself; "no pre-made cake or scone mix used here!".

We can only recommend you visit this Oasis it is well worth a detour just for the cakes alone. Well done, If only more North Cornwall establishments were of such quality and value.

Menalhyl Tea Garden is slightly out of the way on the road between Mawgan Porth and the village of St. Mawgan. It can also be reached by a very pleasant footpath running down to the coast from the village. The garden looks out over the Menalhyl valley.

We discovered the place by accident and were bowled over by the quality of the food they served. On the face of it the menu offers the usual café fare at modest prices but there is a colossal difference in that most of the produce is actually reared and grown on adjacent land and brilliantly home cooked.

On our first visit my wife had a delicious roast pork and trimmings baguette, (available Sundays), which she said was the best pork she had ever tasted and I had a really nice home made beef burger. With cooking so good we couldn't resist trying their cakes as well and were not disappointed.

We were walking the Cornish coastal path and came across many local eating places some in unexpected and charming settings and good value for money but this tea garden really took the prize for us.

Having enjoyed our walks we returned to the Menalhyl Tea Garden for a scrumptious breakfast before hitting the road home. Our only regret was although able to purchase some of the farm's eggs they did not have enough of their own sausage to sell us to take back. We hope for better luck next time.

The garden is a short distance from the popular spots but well worth the effort of finding.
