“Little gem in the heart of Newquay”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

Little Kahuna is a tiny restaurant. At first glance, it looks more like a regular takeaway cafe, which you could easily miss from outside. Inside, there are no frills decor-wise, and it probably seats no more than 20 people at a service, so booking is essential as it's often busy. The food (Thai/Asian-orientated) is prepared to order at the counter kitchen adjacent to the seating area, is tasty, quickly prepared and looks good on the plate. Everything I've eaten there has been delicious. The service has been fast and friendly, and the wine is good. We've taken friends there regularly, and they have been pleasantly surprised by the food, and enjoyed the laid back, casual feel of the place. I would recommend it. If I have any suggestions to the owners, it would be to change the menu a little more regularly - but only because I go there more than once a month. Otherwise, don't change a thing.

“Fantastic food, don't miss”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

Small but adequately sized rustic restaurant. Good choice of wines.
Had tempura prawns as a starter, amazing dips accompany them.
Beef rendang and ribs for main, both bursting with flavours.
Kelly told us of her and Ryan's experiences travelling which inspired the restaurants menu, it does show in the quality of the food.
For something different and not too expensive, pay a visit.

“Bit expensive ”
Reviewed February 25, 2014 via mobile

Visited here last night, the service was very fast and for three courses we were in and out in just over an hour. Four pieces of squid for £7.00 expensive I think. Food OK and better than last time we visited. Not really sure why people rave about this place it is average but nothing special.

“I wish more restaurants were like this...”

We are so lucky to have such a good restaurant here in Newquay... the food is always great, really tasty, fresh and delicious. I dream about the sticky ribs... so good!

Its only small so you need to book as it is always busy. It is really well priced for the quality of food and service.

We were recommended this little gem by the manager of a hotel in Porth, he wasn't wrong. It's was a fabulous meal, I'm very glad he also booked a table for us, which was needed as it is a small place run by Ryan and Kelly to perfection. I had duck spring rolls followed by beef randang. The smells when you walk in are amazing.
