Description: More than 100 summer jobs have been created in Newquay with the opening of a new £2m pub. The Cribbar will employ 130 in the peak holiday season and about half that at other times, said operator JD Wetherspoon. It takes its name from the Cribbar reef, which stretches out under the sea from Towan Head. Newquay Safe, a partnership of local authorities and police, welcomed the new pub.

“Can't beat Wetherspoons”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

My absolute favourite Wetherspoons pub. Ever.
Theres just something different about this Wetherspoons that I love. The decor is proper Newquay style, covered with pictures of surfers and the surfing history in Newquay. The value of the food is incredible for the quality, but i'm sure many of you know this already lol. I can't think of many things I haven't had off the menu because i've visited so many Wetherspoons pubs in my life but this one just stands out with the quality of the food - you really can't beat their breakfasts for the price. The staff are really attentive and nice too. I think the only issue with the decor of the pub is that the seats are slightly uncomfortable, the best place to sit is at the back because thats the only area where you can sit somewhere and relax, all the other tables seem too high up and a bit rigid. Don't let this cause any hesitation for you to visit this place though, it's brilliant.
Oh - and make sure you visit on a Tuesday - the curry night deal is the best.

“Can't fault it”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

Late lunch with friends, two had the mixed grill which was a good size, another had the pulled pork burger which looked delicious and apparently was! And boring me had a jacket potato but it was yummy and very soft and loads of filling. Afterwards we had chocolate sundaes which weren't amazing but ok. Our waiter was attentive chatty and also brought us some extra onion rings when we noticed one mixed grill's portion was a lot smaller than the other, good service, we'll be back.

“Terrible service”
Reviewed November 16, 2013

After waiting 10 Minutes to get served I was told that a female customer was " prettier" than me and therefore got served before me as she just approached the bar. Working in the hospitality industry this is a horrendous way to serve a customer, as a local that frequently visits I will not be going there again.

Open from 8am and with a good breakfast menu, the food was fresh & hot and the staff were friendly, too.
