Description: We purchase food locally and cook fresh in our kitchens each day. We have a popular Sunday Roast each Sunday, as it is freshly cooked roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, green vegetables and melt in the mouth meat, plus vegetarian and vegan options, it's usually very busy. We also offer a takeaway Sunday roast, call and collect. Friday night is Burger Night where we serve the Dolphin Gourmet Burgers, that too has become extremely popular, the menus are on our website and we offer online booking. The restaurant itself is a 75 seater restaurant with a nice friendly bar and lots of sofas dotted around the bar. It's been under new ownership since November 2016 and has been receiving rave reviews and sometimes sold out on Sundays with over 160 meals served. The Dolphin is the oldest trading restaurant in the beautiful Cornish town of Newquay and is a traditional yet vibrant venue, with friendly staff and a strong focus on sustainable and ethical practice. All produce is fresh and is locally and responsibly sourced, allowing for an exciting and dynamic food menu that appeals to people of all tastes. The lounge bar provides a relaxing area to enjoy well maintained draught lagers, ales and ciders, a carefully chosen range of wines and spirits. Serving from our Main Menu items such as Tapas, Seafood and Grill as well as our hugely popular Sunday Roasts, where we offer a takeaway roast on Sunday (from 26 November 2016) to meet the overbooked demand. The Dolphin is situated near to the Harbour in the centre of the town, just a minute from the beach and is surrounded by absolutely gorgeous beaches famous for their golden sands and world-class surf conditions on the North Cornwall coast. Adjacent to the restaurant is a pay and display car park whilst street parking is also available within a few minutes walk. Sainsburys also operate a time limited (1.5 hours at the time of writing) car parking facility, it is an automated time register driving in and driving out so allow a few extra minutes to get back to your car and exit their car park.

What can I say, this place is amazing. Not only is the food divine, the cocktails are wonderful and the staff absolutely fantastic. On our 3 night stay in newquay we ate here for 2 evenings, and stayed for drinks after too.
Defiantly recommended to everyone.

We initially decided not to go in on our first night in Newquay, due to not being able to see in but came back on the 2nd night because of the trip advisor rating.
The garlic mushroom and cheese starter was lovely but, the bangers and mash main was outstanding.
The cocktails were also expertly made and very tasty.
Lovely atmosphere and excellent customer service made this the perfect night out. It was so nice there we went for a stroll and came back for more cocktails later on.
Our favourite place so far.

My husband and I was having a break after Easter weekend in Newquay, we passed the Dolphin a few times and said we must try it before we go home. We decided to go on the Wednesday early evening, it was quiet when we got there and was shown straight to our seats. My husband ordered the Cornish Mussels and i ordered the Catch of the Day and Chips, it was delicious the nicest fish I have had and my husband had never had Mussels before so really enjoyed them, he thinks it will be hard to find anything better. Our meal was finished off with Eaton Mess which was to die for, we finished the night off with a drink at the bar chatting to some local people and the bar staff who made us feel welcome, I would recommend this restaurant highly.

I'm done! Can't say enough about the quality of produce and execution of cooking! Portion sizes big enough to choke a dolphin ☺ had the roast pork with cider gravy and many many trimmings, roasts crisper than the cider and a giant yorkie!
Off for a nap in the sun, thanks guys!

Thank Erdez

My husband and I dined at the Dolphin Bar and Restaurant over the Easter weekend. We read good reviews on Tripadvisor beforehand and decided to go for a pub style meal. It was fairly early in the evening so it wasn't very busy and we were seated straight away.

We ordered a starter of Cornish mussels with bacon and cream sauce to share and it was more than enough for two people. Our mains were sausages and mash, and BBQ pork ribs. Both mains were large portions and delicious. The pork ribs were the largest we had even seen and just about took up the whole platter. They should have warned us that the pork ribs were going to be so large! We would've liked to have tried the desserts but we had already had far too much food. The wait staff were very friendly and the service was great.

We enjoyed our meals and would recommend going there for a casual lunch or dinner. There was a good selection on the menu and they use locally sourced meat and produce. Most mains are priced at £12-£15.
