Owner description: From the local Cornish coast to the dazzling beauty of the Tropical Reef, Newquay Blue Reef aquarium has an exciting world of underwater adventure waiting to be discovered. More than 40 innovative displays vividly bring to life the sights, sounds and smells of the sea, whilst regular feeding displays, rock-pool workshops and informative talks provide a fun and fascinating day out. Visitors can enjoy the closest of undersea encounters with amazing aquatic life including seahorses, giant octopus, pulsating Jellyfish and fierce Piranha. At the aquariums heart is a spectacular coral reef display housed within a 250,000 litre ocean tank - home to exotic tropical species like black tip reef sharks and Omiros the rescued loggerhead turtle. As well as hundreds of brightly-coloured reef fish and a huge Southern Stingray. Enjoy the sheer beauty of the display by taking a journey through its very own underwater tunnel, as well as through a number of viewing portholes, a floor to ceiling window and even enjoy close encounters from the surface - where Omiros often likes to pop up to say hello! Situated on Towan Promenade in the heart of Newquay, Blue Reef Aquarium not only offers a beach on its doorstep but also an amazing experience, whatever the weather!

a very very poor place for familys value for money wise!,,,,expensive entry tho once inside it takes well less than 30 mins to go round and see it all,,what they have is great,,tho its just not enough! your better off taking them to morrisons fish counter and giving the kids a tenner each after,,,itll save you money!
you seem to walk back out and a sudden sense of "HOW MUCH??????" pops into your head!

We went around the centre when it was a rainy day and even though the kids are in their early teens they wanted to go around again. Top attractions were the deadly rock fish and the weird looking Nautilus. The tunnel is always popular too. Interactive sessions are good and more of these welcome.

The locals membership is brilliant value for money. The staff are helpful if you have any questions. The displays are colourful and interest my children aged 5 and 9.

Very small and overpriced for what you get. We were very disappointed, we paid £32 for a family ticket and it took about 30 minutes to get round and we were walking very slowly and even went back round to look again. The cafe is very overpriced, 2 very small coffees , 2 bottles of orange juice and a packet of crisps was nearly £13, my husband nearly choked on his coffee when I told him. Would not recommend if you have been to a sealife centre before as not worth the money.

Ignore any negative comments about the blue reef aquarium as they have been done so by naive inconsiderable people. The Blue Reef is situated on the sea front and therefore does not have any parking on site, however there are streets around which have parking available.

I have nothing but positive feedback for the Blue Reef Aquarium, it took us approx 1 hour to walk round everything and is worth the entrance fee (plus it goes towards a good cause!). Staff were friendly and polite, and also were accommodating wit any questions that we had.

The tickets includes a free return visit if you wanted to pop down to the beach and come back later in the day, there was no charge, Well worth the visit for people of all ages.
