“Good old fashioned carvery - a relief from chips!!”
Reviewed August 13, 2014

We booked for dinner one Thursday to escape death by chips. We had a very reasonably priced carvery meal and the staff were great. Drinks are reasonably priced and we had great help from staff and regulars getting our daughters wheelchair in and out.

It's a pick from three meats then help yourself to vegetables etc. very good value for money indeed.

There's an outside area too if you want to sit outside which we did at a later visit.

I would recommend for the carvery and the bar meals looked nice too.

“Brilliant value for money. Fantastic food.”
Reviewed August 12, 2014 via mobile

Just returned from a 3 night break. Breakfasts and Carvery could not be faulted. Delicious! Staff very friendly and helpful. Not all rooms have been refurbished yet. Mine being one of those, however it was clean, comfortable with a sea view. Free parking a real bonus. Will be returning again next year. Excellent value for money.

“DISGUSTED”
Reviewed August 12, 2014

Absolutely appalled at how rude the staff are here. After visiting about 2 years ago and thoroughly enjoying the food I was very disappointed this time around. The food looked good but unfortunately we didn't get to try it as we felt forced to leave due to the unprofessionalism and rude manner we received. We were not apologised to once after being told that half of our party couldn't order due to too many orders in the kitchen - which was only explained to us once we queried it. No wonder the place was practically empty.

“Lovely Pub - Overpriced and Rude Waitress”
Reviewed August 4, 2014 via mobile

What a gorgeous old worldy pub. My partner and I planned to eat here last week, on entering the pub was quite quiet other than a few older men at the bar. The young bar man was lovely and friendly but the price of drinks truly was ridiculous we decided against our original choice of a pint of Guinness and vodka and coke and resorted to a coke and tap water. We walked through into the restaurant area and was greeted by a very flustered woman, she came around the corner so quickly she took us by surprise, she quickly back tracked and asked if we were okay. My partner asked if there was a table for two to be met with a stern 'the restaurant is full, try the bar' and she walked off. Yes the restaurant did look busy but manners cost nothing. She was just plain rude! on finding a seat in the bar area we looked through the menu and to be honest we weren't impressed, there wasn't much variety and yet again we weren't impressed with the variety. We finished our drinks and left. Not impressed. Such a gorgeous place, but the price and staff let it down for us unfortunately.
