Review of Waterworld

Ranked #46 of 65 things to do in Newquay
Attraction details
Reviewed August 15, 2012 via mobile

We have today visited Waterworld, Newquay and have left feeling disappointed. It cost the best part of £40 for 4x adults and 2x children and wasn't good value for money. There are 2 pools, one for just swimming and one fun pool. Both are small and there is one slide suitable for adults/older kids and one for younger kids. That's pretty much it. We were limited to 1 hour and 15 mins (despite it not being full) but weren't particularly bothered as we were bored! I can't recommend this place to anyone as its not good value, not good fun, parking expensive and a bit rubbish all round.
It killed an hour on a rainy afternoon but we won't be going back.

Me, my husband, daughter (20 months) and son (12 wks). Luckily we didn't have to pay for the kids but for me and my husband it cost £15. For a family of four your looking at £25.

The family changing was good, clean and suitable for toddlers and babies but the showers are a bit naff.

The pool itself was lovely, clean, plenty of on-duty lifeguards and slides for the adults and kiddies.

The flumes my husband could take my daughter on which she loved and the main pool was great to splash about. My newborn loved it because the water was warm and not too chloriny if that's even a word.

Overall good for rainy days but a little expensive if an larger or older family.

Have been to Waterworld every year for the past few years when on holiday in Newquay. usually to escape the rain but this time to cool off! Large fun pool with slides, fountains, things to climb on, shallow end for little ones, water sprayers etc.

Great for the kids they love it. There is also a seperate pool for swimming.
Family changing rooms are spacious.
£23 for 2 adults and 2 children.
Parking for a fee outside (opposite zoo)
Need £1 for locker (refunded).

Having mixed weather while in Cornwall we were looking for things to do with our 3 year old son. Waterworld was on our list of rainy things to do.

The place itself is very clean and has great changing facilities. It has two pools: a 25 meter lane swimming pool and a fun pool. In the fun pool there is lots to do with a water cannon, two slides, a floating snake, hippo, waterfalls, and water jets in deepish area and shallow. The room and water is quite warm without over powering. Our son loved the hippo slide!

Safety is paramount with little ones and here it appears to be taken seriously with two lifeguards in the fun pool at all times with regular rotations. I used to teach lifeguards and this is good practice. It wasn't busy when we were there but I would imagine another one would be needed for busy times.

Car parking is a little strange and it's shared by the zoo and other things. Is pay and display. You will need more time then you think! Also get there early is possible.

Overall a great place if the UK weather is not playing ball. We will be back!

A lovely pool for small children. I imagine if your a 'thrill seeker' this pool would become boring after a while.
There's 2 flume/slides that are fine for children to go on the under 5's on parents laps. The pool is relatively warm. We had no time restrictions and that made the slighty expensive entrance fee more acceptable.
