First time at Porth Veor Hotel, and very pleasantly surprised & impressed with size & quality of bedrooms - Rooms 25 & 27. Comfy king-size beds, plenty of wardrobe & storage space, well-equipped and spacious. Very nice-looking hotel complex, with the outdoor swimming pool & large conservatories. Staff are very friendly & helpful, especially Paul. Stayed for 2 nights over the Valentine's weekend with our friends, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Restaurant very busy with folks taking advantage of the £99 Valentine's dinner, bed & breakfast rate, thought it slightly affected the quality of the food, (especially the dire, dry roast potatoes!!) but not going to niggle, dinner & breakfast all very enjoyable & tasty. Would like to come here again, Porth Beach is lovely and a great area to explore. Maybe try one of the self-catering villas around the pool next time. Thank you for a lovely weekend xx

Almost as good as the first (March 2013). Our second stay (December 2013) was marred only by the television system which we had cause to complain about over the course of our week-long stay. General Manager, Jamie, did his utmost to fix the problem (and treated us very well accordingly) which really will not be resolved until a new system is installed. (I understand this is imminent.)
That said, the apartments are very clean and comfortable with good quality soft furnishings and very good bath/shower rooms.
The only thing that lets Porth Veor apartments down for me are the beds. They are not of good quality and do not make for a good nights sleep. (On departing from our first stay, I did mention to reception that the main bed left an awful lot to be desired. However, following our second stay in a different apartment, I now realise the apartments are all kitted out with the same furniture.)
We will return, though, as we do like both the area and the hotel. On our last evening we enjoyed a very good dinner in the hotel. Despite being delayed and turning up 40 minutes later than we should have done, the staff, who also had a largish party in to cater for, were very attentive.

Spent just one night here on an internet deal.
Unfortunately the room we were allocated (room 12)
Which was perfectly acceptable for the price that we
Paid had one issue during the night. A neighbouring
Property had a security light which seems to go
Off every time we moved in the bedroom. I did tell
The receptionist at check out so I hope the issue has
Been rectified.
The service in their restaurant and bar was excellent.
The food was of a very high standard and I can see
Why it is very popular with non residents in the area.
Would stay again but not in room 12!

This self-catering property came to us as an upgrade, so I'm bound to be pleased with it, but here goes anyway: This is a two-bedroomed cottage on two floors. It is clean and cosy and well-fitted. Downstairs is a comfy sitting-room, an inglenook with a wood-burning stove, a laundry, and a kitchen with full-sized stove, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. There is a patio area and small cottage garden outside. Upstairs are two bedrooms (one quite small), and a bathroom. Breakfast at the adjoining hotel is reduced to £7.50 for guests staying in the cottage.
The cottage is normally quite pricey, but there are often good deals to be had. As I only paid for a studio apartment, it was an even better bargain for me!

Room Tip: This is next to the coast road, so it probably isn't so restful in high season.

We were 3 ladies escaping for a weekend of wine, laughter & relaxing and this was a perfect venue. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment, no. 5 which is a corner one & possibly more spacious. We had 2 bedrooms, one ensuite plus a very comfortable sofa bed in the lounge. The apartment was spotlessly clean, comfortable & well equipped. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was superb, couldn't fault it. We walked into Newquay along the coast which was pleasant & an easy stroll. Porth Beach is lovely & 2 minutes down the road. We will return I'm sure. Thank you.

Stayed here for one night in a superior double with sea views. The room was spotless and so was the bathroom. The view across to the beach was gorgeous!
(Room 24)
We ate in the restaurant in the evening and again at breakfast. The food is gorgeous and was one of the best meals we have had.
Along with the gorgeous food was the excellent service that we received whilst dining and in reception. The staff were polite and could not do enough for you.
The hotel is only a minutes walk away from the beach and a few minutes drive into Newquay town, Padstow was also very close about 13 miles.

I would recommend this hotel and we will be returning!

Thank you!
