I was part of a coach trip to this hotel and I found the whole 5 days splendid. My room was comfortable and clean, admittedly over the bar area but the entertainment usually finished by 10.30pm. The breakfasts could have been warmer but plenty to choose from. The evening meal was so full of choice it was difficult to pick on any one item, and everything was well presented and perfectly cooked. Our party was on an all inclusive basis and the lunch bags provided every day were tasty and plentiful. Finally all staff were pleasant and helpful. Would certainly recommend this to anyone.

Room Tip: First floor 128 over bar so could be noisy.

Room was sooo much bigger than expected considering the price. Massive bed, lovely room. Absolute bargain.
Food was really nice, only complaint was that it didn't come out very hot, but the staff were really really lovely.
Considering the price of this one night package for 3 course dinner, night in a lovely room AND breakfast, really can't complain. Really enjoyed ourselves.

Stayed in room 236 overlooking Hotel tennis court on a w/end special. Beautiful room, bed to die for but B/fast was worth getting up for. Very Good. Very hard to Fault this Hotel unless your Picky. Next time will take a telescope to view surfers. Upgraded to steak for evening meal, didn't need to But did enjoy. Onion rings the BEST.

Whilst staying nearby my wife, two daughters, partners and two granddaughters used the pool at the Esplanade. It was a complete disgrace. The changing area was cramped, so much so that any more than 3 people was impossible, the water was murky and there were loose bits of metal around the edge of the pool on which one of my daughters cut herself. The worst, however, was that the only ladder for exiting the pool had a top step which wasn't properly secured. As my wife was getting out the step moved and tipped her off causing her to scrape both shins down the lower steps. This caused extensive bruising and cuts. Our subsequent complaints to the management were dealt with very slowly and were passed off as insignificant. Needless to say no one even said sorry!

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the hotel for one night in February. We were booked in on a D,b&b package. The room was fine and the sea view was fantastic. I also have no complaints about the breakfast. The evening meal however, wasn't good at all. We were rushed through a 3 course meal in 45 mins. We hadn't finished our first glass of wine before they were taking our dessert order. The starters and desserts had clearly been plated up earlier in the day. The goats cheese tart was cold and would have been a lot better warm. The cheese on the cheese platter had hard edges where it had been sliced and then put back in a fridge. The service was also fairly poor. We had a number of people waiting on us throughout the night, which meant we were asked for our starter order 3 times by different people. Had I known the meal would be like this, I would have only booked the room and dined at a local restaurant.
Despite the negatives I would return to this hotel, but I definitely wouldn't dine at the restaurant again.
