we visited in may after passing it on the main rd many times and thought we would give it a try. the menu is very limited and there is not a kids menu..they just have half adults portions. the food was just ok usual pub grub, nothing special...but i think overpriced. £10.95 for ribs and chips a small portion at that was not good value...the staff were friendly enough but dont think we will be going again

Food is of a reasonable standard, not top end pub grub more middle of the road.
The gammon was nice and the chips were crispy and not over greasy, it came with a good side salad. Bubble and Smoke, was very good a nice size piece of smoked haddock on a bed of bubble and squeak topped off with a nice soft poached egg. The ribs were very good but not worth the price as Daemons ribs would beat them hands down on taste and value for money (the portion was quite small) but cost the same. The burgers on the other hand, were top whack.
All in all a reasonable quality but slightly over priced for the standard of food and drink served.
The lady waiting tables worked very hard, she also had to serve at the bar.
No draft speciality beers so for a Cornish beer it was a bottle same went for the Rattler Cider.
I would eat here again if in the area, it is pub grub treat it as such.

Food is average, but good service from friendly staff. Prices are perhaps a little high for quality. I probably wouldn't rush back, but don't be put off if you are looking for a family friendly pub.

Having eaten on many occasions and really enjoyed in. But on this occasion we were very disappointed. We ordered 2dry ciders and and we're brought 2 sweet ciders, and the steaks were only just edible,we ordered salads on both instead of the peas and received salad on one and peas on the other. I don't know if the Steak house has changed ownership or the chef has moved on but we will think twice before going again.
