Trerice was a very disappointing visit for us, small house and an even smaller garden, it wasnt worth the 8 pound we had to pay each,
we totally agree with the comments with the same thought as we had.

This is a small manor house that tries hard to engage interest. When we went we were encouraged to try on armour and play some old games. However even if you do every thing and we also played outdoor skittles, it doesn't take long to look around. When we visited the tea rooms were expensive and the staff not welcoming.

I've been an enthusiastic member of the NT for many years and have had some great experiences in the many and varied properties. However, this wasn't one of them! The best thing about the National trust for me is the support given by voluntary staff: the room stewards in particular make most visits worth while.

But at Trerice, I'm afraid several of the staff on the day we visited (whether paid or voluntary, I don't know) made us feel very unwelcome, as if we were just an inconvenience - even though 2 of us are members and the other 6 of our group had paid £8 each as non members for entry to what is essentially a very small, not particularly interesting, house.

The tea room wasn't great either. A toastie, cake and drink came to a way over priced £13 each.

All in all, not a great day out!

A very pleasant Barn Restaurant at Trerice Manor, a National Trust property. The food was expertly cooked and very plentiful.

We've visited many national trust properties and was quiet disappointed with this one.

The drive to the site is down a very narrow twisting lane, and not a pleasant drive at all.

In the house Only one room you are allowed to take photos, and only took about 40 mins to walk around.

The garden is very small, not a lot to see. We left after just 1 1/2 hours and was glad we are members and didn't have to pay to get in.
