Stayed in the flat above the ticket station it was great. Beautiful flat with everything you need, a good walk to the Pheasant Pub for good food and drinks. Beautiful Valley to walk your dog, 10 minute drive to Newquay. We will be going again out of season but i am sure some people would like to go when its open and see the steam engines.

have been here a number of times over last 3 years (son is now 5) and it never ceases to amaze him!! Train rides x 3 and various other free activities ie canoeing around a small lake and playing on the fort, crazy golf, sit on digggers in a sand pit, go-carts and pedal tractors by the cafe and running around a brick labrinth to ring the central bell. Plenty of space to sit and relax as its set in a quiet location.

Lappa Valley Steam Railway is a great day out for all the family. I remember coming here as a kid as my parents lived in the nearby village of St Newlyn East and, some thirty odd years later, I've taken my children along a couple of times. My 4 y.o. loves it. The excitment of the train taking you to the main attractive would be enough on its own, but the raft of activities available when you get to the woodland park makes for an enjoyable day. There's loads to do and see and plenty to keep the family amused for the entire day. On rainy days, there's not much cover but other than that, it's hard to fault. Electric cars are £1 a go but other, there's a shop and cafe, but other than that, it's one fee and then you get everything included. Well recommended.

Steam train ride to site, then loads of free activities, kayaks, crazy golf, playgrounds etc. Take a picnic in disposable bags as nowhere to store coolbags and café has limited menu. Don't forget the suncream either if its hot as it's easy to forget while kayaking on the lake.

The kids love it here.

What great value and such a change from the high tech that seems to abound these days. Kids of all ages were having a whale of a time and could go on all the rides and other activities for no extra fee, only a small fee for the canoes.Great value and the maze was busy with kids trying to get to the centre so that they could ring the loud bell! The cafe was excellent and very reasonably priced too. There is a special Christmas programme, so no guesses as to where we'll go for a treat. The staff were cheerful and safety conscious, helpfully putting their messages across to their young guests. Interesting for adults too, with information about the history of the area and its carefully restored mine buildings. Certainly a gem of a day out with the family.
