“A great location, hotel and more importantly great staff”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

We stopped in room 305 and what a beautiful room it was, with our own balcony and sea view.
This was a great start to what was one of our most memorable weekend breaks.
It was our third stay at the hotel and you've guessed it, the reason why we go back is because it never disappoints ,
We had taken our dog Lily this time and she was really welcomed. Food is excellent and staff are very friendly and nothing too much bother, even when they were so busy.
We took a little peep at the spa and was welcomed by a lovely lady that i couldn't help myself but book a treatment, pure heaven!
The spa is a must to help you relax and well, just a little treat to yourself. You wont regret it.
I cant recommend this hotel enough and that's why were thinking of going back in 2014!!!!

Your comments make lovely reading - they have been conveyed to our staff who really make the Headland the very special place it is. They always appreciate such feedback and especially enjoy seeing regular visitors such as yourselves returning as this is the best endorsement that our guests have enjoyed their stay. The Spa are introducing new treatments which will be available in time for next visit and which are truly irresistible! Look out for our Spa specials on the website and don’t forget to book in advance.

We stayed in Beach 1 Cottage for my husbands 40th birthday and spent our last night in a sea view best room. The cottages have everything you could wish for and if required housekeeping daily.
Our hotel room was amazing with gorgeous bathroom and four poster bed, but the best thing on a stormy weekend a sofa in the bay window.
We didn't get to try the Spa this time but will next time, but the facilities are top class. Food great as always.
I would also like to say the staff were so helpful carrying out balloon & banner requests and after a slight hiccup on my part Victoria & Matt (Duty Manager) were amazing. You should be very proud of your staff as they do you proud.
Will see you again soon x

Well, thanks for your comments and naturally my response confirms that we too know our staff are absolutely amazing and are very proud of each and every one of them! You certainly missed out on a Spa experience and perhaps next time you and your husband could enjoy a belated birthday treat with our VIP couples treatment.

We stayed in a Fistral room at the Headland Hotel in November 2013 for an 18th birthday weekend. The Headland Hotel and the beautiful surrounding have lots of character! The room we stayed in and all of the facilities were especially modern but, in contrast the grand stair case, and lobby etc. still have a historic feel to them. The staff were absolutely brilliant and provided the best service that we have ever experienced. The food in the restaurant was outstanding, the main course meats were gorgeous, the service was impeccably timed and outstanding! We would definitely recommend the Headland hotel, the bed, breakfast and evening meal package and definitely look forward to going back again in the near future.

Room Tip: We had one of the "Fistral rooms" which was absolutely lovely, equipped with exceptional f...

I stayed here for the Cornwall Tourism Awards at the beginning of November. I have to say I was disappointed with the room; we stayed last year for the same reason and had an amazing room with a spectacular bathroom, this year we paid the same price and got an average bathroom and an okay room. Make sure you query the rooms before booking!

The service was great, waiters and waitresses were brilliant and the celebrations were fantastic, the jazz band was also spectacular and we had a great time celebrating our bronze award. The only problem with service that we experienced was a very grumpy and not very accommodating waitress at breakfast.

The food was immaculate. Cooked to perfection and would eat at the hotel every day if I could. We had an afternoon tea in the Bistro and dinner in the restaurant, along with breakfast in the morning. Each meal was delightful.

Sea views were beautiful. We're from Cornwall so we don't really appreciate the views as much as we should (as tourists do), but coming here really made you appreciate the break-taking views.

We would come back again and definitely recommend to a friend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a great bathroom.

What a fantastic night that was and congratulation to you on your award. We all did so well and it was fabulous to see the crème de la crème of the tourism industry all together for the event. We were thrilled to have been presented with top awards for both the hotel and the cottages and were honoured to host the event for the second year running. With regard to your room, we do have various categories of room available which range from classical to contemporary design and each has its own particular character. It’s a shame your booking didn’t meet your expectations on this occasion and I’d suggest that our reservationists help you next time to ensure you get exactly what you require.

My second stay in the Headland Hotel this year, and a welcome change from the regular hotels I stay in on business. The Headland Hotel has a lot of character, and has been sympathetically refurbished and updated. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant is gorgeous - I recommend the bed, breakfast and evening meal package. It's not perfect, but I'd rather stay here than anywhere else in Newquay, and I look forward to going back again next year.

Room Tip: Cheaper rooms are small but adequate. You probably don't come here to stay in the room though, p...

It’s a pleasure to look after our business guests who, like you, appreciate the family feel to the Headland which sets us apart from the impersonal corporate chains. Thanks for your comments which are much appreciated.

My wife an I recently spent a short weekend break at the Headland Hotel Newquay. Wow! What a brilliant stay. The room and spa facilities were stunning, the food exceptional and good value and the atmosphere and staff provided for an exceptional level of service. Add to that stunning views of the north Atlantic coast and you have a recipe for a truely relaxing, romantic break. Thank you

Room Tip: A room with a sea view is a must for spectacular scenery.

We spent 3 nights in one of their beautiful cottages - spotless, high quality furniture and finishes with the sound of the sea. Ate in the restaurant and in the veranda room - food delicious, staff warm and friendly, they couldn't do enough for you. Spa pool & facilities very relaxing. My mum loved every minute she was there - we will be back next year but with the whole family and maybe the dog too!
A big thank you to all the staff at this wonderful hotel.

Our cottages are truly stunning providing guests with a ‘home from home’ independence whilst also having the facilities of the hotel at your doorstep. They’re fabulous for family groups and I’m delighted you’ll all be returning next year. Take a look on line as some cottages have gardens, some decking and some balconies which will be an important factor when bringing your dog with you. There’s an interactive map you can access to helps identify those cottages facing Fistral Beach.
