“Slightly storm damaged, but....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2014

The recent storms have taken a toll with damage to a couple of buildings which may take a little while to repair. Plus because the storm surges have removed quite a bit of sand entrances to the beach are a little steep but not a major problem.

Otherwise it's still a super beach and ideal for all the usual activities you would expect from Newquay's beaches whatever the weather or season. Work was already starting on repairs and I'm sure nature will replenish sand stocks.

“Beautiful and Bracing”

Golden sand, sea and surf. Just watching the surfers was enough for us but it looked like great fun.

“Dog-friendly beach with friendly dogs!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014

The is a fabulous beach and when we were there it was dog-friendly - so we had romps in the sand with happy dogs and well-behaved dog owners who cleaned up after their dogs! Just minutes from the Headlands Hotel where we were staying so it's ideal. Hotel is dog-friendly too. The shops at the car park seem to be dog-friendly as well, so we were able to browse after wearing ourselves out on the beach! Surprisingly, the beach seems more sheltered than you would think it would be but probably because it's more of a cove. So even in December's gales it wasn't so bad down on the beach. Very, very clean and well looked after by users as well.

“Lovely - out of the Tourist Season!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2014

A scenic sandy beach, great fun with the kids on a sunny winters day - rock pools, rocks to scramble over, surfers on huge breakers to watch, too busy in season though!
