One of the nicer parts to Newquay, we were heading through and not that impressed with Newquay in general and we stumbled upon this beautiful beach and a perfect surfers paradise.

Loved this beach, from lovely walks first thing in the morning or evening to sunbathing and sea swimming during the day. The beach is very clean and the sea is clear and lovely. Even plucked up the confidence to go all the way in and have a swim and play about. If you go, hire yourself a body board. We didn't and I regret that. So many other people did and it looked all kinds of fun.

There are surf type shops right on the beach, somewhere to buy ice-cream and fish and chips. There's surf lessons going on all the time but the flags on the beach show you where they should be and where it's safe to go in the sea.

The life guards are brilliant and have a constant presence without making you feel you're being watched or intruded on. They also wear little red speedos like something straight out of Baywatch!

Great beach, especially for surfing when the waves are good. A nice decking area where you can sit and have a drink and watch the sun go down. Dog friendly!
