“Nice pitches, shame about the rest!”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

Nice pitch, nice grass and very flat. Reception were very accommodating and polite. However the showers were cold and the boiler broke twice on 2 separate days (and the reception denied that I called to report this). Understand things break, but not to put up a sign stating this was very poor, as could have gone to another block if known. Swimming pool was cold, not warm enough with the roof closed, and really needs someone looking and managing as the pool was taken over at times by larger groups, meaning a quick exit.

The shop was only open at certain times of the day, and with a packed half term, we expected this to be better, as with the cafe times, but staff there looked bored and uninterested.

Also still had people with loud music and no rule for quiet at later parts of the night, not great when you have younger kids.

Also 1 further big thing was all ages were allowed to gamble playing bingo, this for me didnt feel right with younger kids being able to gamble.

Room Tip: Block C - at least the hot water works!

We have been to this campsite before and had a lovely time. Unfortunately this park is now heavily focused on its evening entertainment. The night we arrived a fight broke out between a couple that had too much to drink. Fellow campers had to break it up as there was no security. There is 'butlins' entertainment in the bar every night whether it be a disco or bingo. We were kept awake every night until 1130pm by the evenings entertainment and then by the families leaving the bar. Theres no security around to tell people to be respectful and quiet at the end of the night .If you are looking for peace and tranquility think again about booking this campsite . The shop was also closed between 11am and 4pm. The toilets were filthy. This campsite also used to not accept large groups, shame it has done a u turn on this rule. Won't be staying here again

Just got back home today after staying here for 3 nights, yesterday morning we thought we would have breakfast at the cafeteria, one person of our group asked for scrambled egg instead of fried to which the waitress right in front of us asked the chef if he was " In the mood to cook scrambled egg" to which he replied right in front of us "NO" and that was that. Other than that the site is great. Cafeteria was a massive let down!!

Booked just for one night to meet up with Friends and wasn't disappointed.
Very friendly clean and tidy site. New facilities and club house well decorated. Lovely paintings.
I had a shower about 2pm which was a little cooler than I'd hoped but my husband said his was fine. Had a fun night in the club with bingo and quiz. There was music booked but they were let down last minute. Shame I needed a dance!
Will definitely be back.

WE did not stay on this site as we were on the one next door but we had a good check of the facilities and site. The staff were very friendly and the site was well maintained.WE bought an icecream ib the shop and the lady who served us was most helpful and gave us the literature for the coming season. the inside of the cafe and shop was spotless as was the swimming pool.We were disappointed the next evening when we went to get a takeaway, as they had a board outside the site entrance ,to find that they closed at 5.30.I thought that this was rather early,Most people I spoke to had a good time there

The site was clean with good size pitches,. The toilet and shower block were always clean and tidy, although did have to keep pressing button for continuous shower (saving water). The food served at the site was good and reasonably priced. Nice selection of beers as well. Friendly staff. Well located for beaches, with free transport. Only negative was that pool was noisy with no lifeguard.

We returned on 26th August after 8 nights at Watergate Bay Touring Park. We originally planned only 6, however a combination of the weather and the site made us extend.

Despite what has been said the toilet and shower facilities were pretty good, occasionally you would find some grass on the floor or paper but thats all. They were cleaned every morning around 07:00. Pitch sizes were more than enough.

Staff all helpful, shop had most things you could need and was well priced, the fresh pastries were lovely and good value. We didn't try the cafe, however the bar was good.

A farmers field was close by so you often heard the cows in the morning, and aircraft passed over quite frequently in the day from the nearby airport. Non of this spoiled our stay though, we will definitely be back.
