“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2014 via mobile

We were staying at Pennasville Holidays which is right next door to the Pirrans infact our garden backed onto the pub car park which I was a bit worried about the noise level at night. I needn't have worried, the pub shut at 10 so by the time we got to bed it was all quiet. So pleased to be so near to such a fantastic eating place. The food was amazing. We went there to eat about 4 times throughout our 2 week holiday and it was definitely the best food we had. I especially loved the butternut squash cannelloni, oh my goodness it was the best pasta dish I have ever had. My husband tried it the second time we ate there and he loved it to. We just didn't have a bad meal and the staff were all lovely and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them . Being able to take the dog in too was great and they always asked if we wanted a water bowl for him. The outside patio was a lovely place to sit on an evening and watch the sun go down. Couldn't fault the place or the food.

“Friendly, relaxed atmosphere.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2014

We've recently stayed at the Park Dean Holywell Bay site, weather on the first day was awful so we walked the dogs down to the pub and had a bite to eat. Lunch was delicious, only a light bite.
The staff were friendly and accommodating with the dogs, one bar staff member happily got us a bowl of water for the dogs and gave them both a treat each, they were very pleased!
We also had dinner here one evening which again was lovely, the burgers are massive! Definitely worth a visit, and it's literally on the beach so you can walk your meal off after :) would visit again!

“Well worth a visit”

We stayed at the park dean site, this pub was just down the lane in front of the beach. Absolutely lovely staff, accept dogs even made the effort of giving them a treat and a water bowl, lovely food, decent prices and all in all really nice place. We went there twice in one day!

“Not the best meal”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2014

Disappointed that the menu was basically fried food and chips. The staff were great but the menu needs some work fresh salad, fish and some variety would be nice. There was too much greese for me.

Hi Rebecca,
Firstly, thanks for taking the time to write a review for us, always appreciated.
I just wanted to pick you up on a couple of points, the first being the point that "The menu was basically just fried food and chips".
I'm not sure if you read the entire menu, but i just want to point out that along side the fish and chips (A seaside classic!), and calamari, scampi, we also sell the following:
Steak,Burgers,Fish burgers, pan fried salmon, steak pie, chicken in a mushroom sauce, baked chicken, various salads, goats cheese tart, meatballs on a pasta base, new potatoes, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables..plus whatever is featured on the "specials menu" on a daily basis.
None of the above are fried Rebecca, and i hope if you come back for a return visit that perhaps you will try one of these alternatives which are always available.
hope to see you soon.
