“Great food, great staff, great pub”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

Absolutely love this pub - go here every year. The menu isn't massive but consists of homemade, fresh food all of which is reasonably priced and generous portions. The staff are really friendly and you couldn't ask for a better service. The pub is situated pretty much on the beach with a nice sized beer garden. There is a decent sized car park which is free for those visiting the pub.

“Great pub by the sea!”
Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

We would highly recommend this pub. Everything about it is 5 star in our view. The food was delicious, everything was homemade, really good sized portions, superb quality and very reasonably priced. All of this topped off with a fabulous location and really friendly, efficient staff. We stayed in Holywell Bay and went here twice during our weeks holiday. On the second visit, which was 6 days after the first, the waitress remembered our drink order from the last time and had our favorite table all ready for us. We were in a party of 4 and all ordered different things on each visit. Every single dish we had was outstanding! The waitress and landlord were brilliant. We will definitely be going back on our next visit to Cornwall. You have to try the cocount crumbed king prawns to start... amazing!!

“Outstanding”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

Met Chef Gary on the beach (he was busy getting a mobile signal!!!). But after only a few minutes of him talking about the menu - we were hooked.

Next night we arrived. Probably a Little overdressed as it was our anniversary but we were greeted and welcomed wonderfully. The restaurant was warm but they even have blankets available for those coming off the beach or my beautiful partner in a lovely dress!!

The menu was pretty extensive as was the specials board. After some thought and relaying of allergies back to Gary (chef) we arrived at Skate Wing and I had a pie.... A little while later both dishes arrived.

Mouth watering would be a huge understatement - the food was out of this world and definitely worthy of Michelin star.

We really cannot recommend this place enough. The staff were extremely nice and friendly, the location is to die for the manager is approachable and the prices are very reasonable.

They even have accommodation and rooms at very good prices.

“What a find!!”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

We, 5 of us plus 2 dogs, stayed at a bungalow in Holywell in mid April (2013). We first visited a pub just up the road, the Treguth, (OK but not so friendly). Me and the wife popped into St Piran's one lunchtime for two excellent paninis and immediately felt "at home", even our dog relaxed. That evening we all returned for dinner, and the welcome, service and quality of the food were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for the waitress, including remembering our round and bringing the drinks to our table; (standard at a restaurant but impressive at a pub). We returned for a further two evening meals an thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Our host, Chris, chatted to us and found that my two boys were mutual fans of Led Zeppelin and music concerts in general. The only negative (for us boozers) was that the bar closed at 10:00pm. We can fully understand these hours as the weather was very cold and only the (fool)hardy were out and about! Once again, the food was excellent and keep your eye on the specials board. Well done Chris and Co, see you in September. (The Wolves lot)

Very quick service, very high quality food, very friendly staff, very quaint setting, good location, good parking. Have I got my message across yet? This place is the best restaurant I have been to in Newquay!
