I'd like to be more positive about this place, as the staff on the days we went were enthusiastic and helpful. Unfortunately...
We bought our deal via Living Social in May & despite contacting Errant the following day, we were unable to get either of the August weekend dates that we'd requested.
When we arrived at the surf school the changing facilities were almost non existent (a single changing area in a corner with a sheet for a door). There are also no showers, unless you count a shower head attached to a cold outside tap.
In order to get to the beach, you have to carry the surf board (8 or 9 feet long) down a number of flights of steps, navigating narrow turning points. The bottom steps have been weathered by the sea and are uneven. The instructors are happy to help at this stage, but it's not ideal. More difficult still is carrying the boards back up the stairs!
The teaching is brief, although the instructors will advise you whilst in the sea if they spot you struggling or if you ask. That's fine, as you then have plenty of time to get on with trying to surf!
In short, it was good fun and if the staff were at another surf school (or if they had better facilities and a means of getting the surf boards to/ from the beach without students carrying them) I'd try it again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us Feedback on the surf school in Newquay. Our August weekends are pretty booked up a year in advance, so sorry we were unable to offer the weekend you wanted.

The school has grown a lot in the last six months, as such in September we will be extending into the second building next door. This new improvement to the school will mean the changing rooms will be bigger, lockers will be installed (by 15th September) and the room will soley be used for surf coaching with the latest in video coaching equipment, and the surf coaches will be encouraged to offer more theory based coaching in the new classroom.

The new room will host the office which is used by four members of staff who deal with our bookings for the surf school in Newquay plus the overseas surf holidays we offer all year round.

We are glad you found our team friendly and the whole deal good value for money. Hopefully you will come try us out again next year when we have the new improvements in place. We'll even carry your board down the steps :-)

A great two days surf school, Amy and Peter were particularly proactive and helpful. Chris was also fantastic in helping us find great accommodation whilst Max got in the drinks :-) Friendly team, great weekend.
