The Coast Cafe is a little bit outside the main shopping area and we came across it only because of where we ended up parking.
The decor is lovely and clean and fresh, everything being in muted shades of blue with cream and white. The tables inside were covered with spotted fabric and all the bench seats were covered in cushions in stripes and spots. The overall feel was of a lovely beach hut.
We were hunting for a cream tea and hit the jackpot here. The scones were warm and fresh with an ample supply of jam and clotted cream. They were served on a two layer cake stand in pretty bone china that matched the plates and cups and saucers. The teapot was large enough to give two cups of tea each, with some still left over but we had had our fill. The price was a very reasonable £3.95 each (June 2012).
There were two members of staff present who were really friendly and chatty without being invasive and I would thoroughly recommend this cafe.
