The holiday park was situated perfectly for anyone wanting to explore Cornwall, there weren't many things more than 90 mins away. We found it was an ideal base for us a family of two adults and two teenagers, the bar was ideal in the evenings for keeping them entertained with the Internet. I think it would be suited most to young families as there is two swimming pools for entertainment and met amenities on site. Overall a lovely stay.

We stayed in the contemporary cottage that slept 8 , with hot tub , accommodation was spacious , everything provided for self catering . Dishwasher was a god send , and hot tub was a delight as was the decked sun trap at the back . Site is lovely , kids really enjoyed themselves . Only tiny negative was that the family bathroom needs a little bit of repairing but it did not affect our stay . Overall a lovely break and we will stay here again .

We arrived at our accommodation to find the heating and television didnt work as we were late arrivals reception was closed and there was no out of hours number to call so basically we were stuck freezing all night in 4 layers of clothes and quilts! after a sleepless night I rung reception at half 8 to get maitenence to come and sort out the problem! the last then confirmed there was no out of hours number to call so yes basically we are stuck after 10pm if there was an emergency! she then said she would get maitenence round as soon as possible after waiting an hour and a half I rung reception again she said there's a waiting list and he'll be round as soon as possible meaning there understaffed and out of the hole park there's only 1 maitenence worker! anyway we continued to wait as we didnt want anyone in whilst we were out it then got to 12 which is ridiculous as we had things to do! I called reception again to speak to a manager however surprise surprise he wasn't on site! and I got the same response to just wait as he will be round! he finally turned up at 1pm when we arrived last night! appalling service, understaffed! rude receptionist! they need to look at there first impressions in more detail luckily we didn't have kids and were just a young couple cause if we did they'd of froze! shame cause the park and accommodations nice.

Arrived to a very dis-interested reception staff member who reluctantly directed us to the two properties we had booked (one for us and one for our daughter, son-in-law, 3 year old and baby). We were allocated property numbers 92 and 94 which, we were lead to believe were of the same standard. Ours (number 92) was well equipped but filthy! The carpet was stained, the two sofas were so disgusting that I wouldn't sit on them until we had covered them with the duvets from the single beds (which smelt as if they hadn't been washed for months). During the week I was informed that throws could be supplied for the sofas, however, these were not forthcoming. The kitchen cupboards were covered in greasy hand prints (as were the patio door windows). At first glance the bathroom looked quite nice (modern fittings etc.). On further inspection, however, the tiles and mirror were dirty and the corners of the shower tray black with mould and lime scale!

My daughters property (number 94) was even worse! Dated and dirty. Old TV, no DVD player, no hoover, no clothes airer, filthy kettle (which she was expected to boil water in to make up baby bottles), rusty fridge with tiny freezer space (not a fridge/freezer), radiator hanging off the bathroom wall, tiles hanging off bathroom wall, broken window blinds, filthy and broken patio furniture etc. etc.

We complained and the Accommodations Manager came to look at the properties. Although she was happy to move us to other properties she couldn't guarantee they would be any better. She did offer to send cleaners in the next day, but we declined, as their idea of 'clean' was obviously not the same as ours! We, therefore, opted to spend the next day cleaning and try and make the best of it! A DVD player and another kettle were supplied to number 94. However, no other repairs, or offers to repair the broken items and supply the missing items were made.

The staff at Atlantic Reach don't seem to know what is going on half the time. The itinerary for the entertainment etc. we were given on arrival varied from those on display outside reception and no-one seemed to realise this until we pointed it out. They seem to have a 'couldn't care a less' attitude. One exception to this was one young girl who works in the bar. All the others need a personality transplant and a lesson in smiling!

After much complaining we were eventually offered some compensation. However, this took 4 days to arrange and we felt our holiday was curtailed until this was sorted out.

Overall, I am not exactly sure what Atlantic Reach is. Is it a Spa? Is it a Leisure Club? Is it a holiday resort? I would say it is none of the above! I am sure the gym is probably quite good but not something I used. The water in the indoor pool was murky (and no inflatables supplied during the advertised 'inflatables session' even after prompting the staff to provide them), the outdoor pool was freezing, the bar and restaurant unwelcoming, there is a charge for Pirate Pete's Soft Play (the only activity for the very young) and the whole site is dated and in need of a major facelift.

I for one, will not be returning to Atlantic Reach, or recommending it to anyone!

Thank you for your review.
I would just like to clear a few of the points raised.
As soon as you raised an issue regarding the cleanliness of your lodge we straight away offered for housekeeping to come in and clean it for you - which you declined.
We also offered to upgrade your family into one of our 4 bedroom luxury lodges which again you decided to decline.
We are sorry if there was any confusion regarding entertainment. Ordinarily our summer schedule finished the last weekend of August - this year we decided to carry on some entertainment for our guests still with us and there were a few changes. This was a positive response to our customer feedback last year.
Your comments about our staff are in stark contrast to the majority feedback that we receive including previous Trip Advisor reviews.
We also went against our normal company policy and offered you a considerable refund as a good will gesture.
We are continuously trying to improve the resort and have already started making major changes which have been well received by returning guests.
We appreciate your comments and all customer feedback is important to us.

Book 10 lodges in 2012 straight from owners and no much problem, this year book from Atlantic Reach and been rip off by extra charges. Check out time is 10:00am if you late a bit extra 40£ on your card. The place is nice but you can't talk to loud ,a lot of elderly people around and they get upset if you talk or do a barbacue. If you has a group and all they just stay indoor ,no talking just watching tv but no to loud then that's the place to be. Will comeback next year? For sure no! I could book 30 lodges a year on there as this is my job but didn't get any discount or offer ,just bad treatment from the rude staff I can't be border .will leave to the flys.As i moderator from few Turist Websites will make sure today to spread the word and let people know about this place.

If you have a big family and want to stay somewhere that feels like home, then this could be the place for you. The rooms are big and comfortable, the houses feel like you're in a quiet neighbourhood and I was happy to let the kids walk down to the arcade. We didn't end up using the facilities as we tended to drive around during the day.
The location wasn't next door to anywhere, but perfect for exploring the area. Newquay, Perranporth and Padstow were really easy to get to. Definitely on the maybe list for next year.

We booked last minute and this was the cheapest place we could find.it was a couple of hundred pounds cheaper than most caravans.we were very happy with the accommodation and the park as a whole as it had everything you need with the exception of a shop.the location could be a bit better but overall good value for money.sure it was not the best place I have stayed at in Cornwall but we enjoyed it as did our six year old son
