Description: Nestled above the cliffs of Pentire Headland, looking out across the mighty Atlantic, The Lewinnick Lodge has probably one of the best coastal views anywhere in the county. Serving modern British food with an emphasis on fresh fish, the Lodge has long been established as the premier location to enjoy fine Cornish fare and hospitality. 'The Lodge' is open for breakfast from 8am and serves food throughout the day until 10pm (10.30Pm in the summer), everyday of the year. You can choose to dine in our restaurant, bar, beer garden or on the sun terrace - wherever the mood or occasion takes you! We offer modern British and world cuisine using the best local produce. Our ethos is simple, fresh seasonal produce, prepared on the premises by a team of talented chefs. We aim to cater for all tastes on our regular menus but if you are a lover of fresh fish and seafood then our twice daily changing specials will have you coming back time and again. We now also offer 10 stunning boutique style bedrooms so you never have to leave!

I have eaten here many times and never been disappointed, it is always first choice for birthdays, anniversaries or just a special romantic evening out. The special menu always contains fresh local fish (usually a whole fish!) and the home-made desserts are awesome. If you pre-warn that it is a special celebration when you book the table they decorate with balloons and even put candles in the dessert which is brilliant (and the whole place has been known to sing happy birthday).
Get there before sunset and you may be treated to one of the best views in Newquay as the sun sinks into the sea. Well worth booking ahead to get a table in the main restaurant, but you can eat in the bar area, but it is always busy. There is a substantial decking area outside but it gets chilly in the evenings. I believe they are now offering accommodation too.

We went to Lewinnick on a busy Saturday night without a dinner reservation but the friendly staff made room for us.
Food was delicious and service was great. Can get a little loud but I bet it's a beautiful place in the summer!

Hi thanks for your review. We do tend to get quite busy at weekends so the atmosphere may be a little livelier and louder than usual. We are happy you had a lovely meal.

Not been back to this place in years, well it used to have sand on the floor!! And my word it's all grown up now! Much bigger and smarter with rooms above,We wanted a fast lunch as both had appointments at 2, lovely greeting by the girl on what I think is the bar proper, it was a little busy in the bar area but the slightly more formal end was less crowded, no tables for two by the window available so were seated on a four with no problem at all which I liked, extra place settings removed and menus given with water nice touch, we wanted all the food at the same time also not a problem, we had squid, monkfish and moules the latter two being off the specials list, all tasted amazing, my only problem was the cost! As I live in mousehole,so I am a local but squid and mussels are zero cost, and monkfish I get for free off fishing friends, so squid starter at 650 with no bread, and 1300 for the moules but thought the monk was cheep at 1500! And the food arrived with chips which did not suit any of the dishes and added very little, but maybe that's the cost of fish and seafood up the line!! I have a lovely little place near me in newlyn that has fresh fish every day and a locally well known chef and they are doing two courses for £15, so would have had more food for £30 not the £34 it actaly cost, but I would say apart from that a very lovely lunch, and stunning view even on a gray day.

Thank Ladabout
