Serving modern British food with an emphasis on fresh fish, the Lodge has long been established as the premier location to enjoy fine Cornish fare and hospitality. 'The Lodge' is open for breakfast from 8am and serves food throughout the day until 10pm (10.30Pm in the summer), everyday of the year. You can choose to dine in our restaurant, bar, beer garden or on the sun terrace - wherever the mood or occasion takes you! We offer modern British and world cuisine using the best local produce. Our ethos is simple, fresh seasonal produce, prepared on the premises by a team of talented chefs. We aim to cater for all tastes on our regular menus but if you are a lover of fresh fish and seafood then our twice daily changing specials will have you coming back time and again. We now also offer 10 stunning boutique style bedrooms so you never have to leave!

Best veggie roast and best fish cakes :)

Generally a good option for food. Every now and again the portions get a bit small in comparison to the price but normally ok.

Good atmosphere

“Mixed Emotions”

Booked Table for two in the evening one week before, for my wifes, 55th birthday, requesting a good seat location having read all the reviews and web site material. The restaurant is in beautiful location, with a stunning outdoor terrace and wonderful views. The interior decor is bright and modern with a buzz in the atmosphere. The food portions were generous and the vegetables were excellent, however my crab cakes were burnt on the base and m wifes Sea bass overcooked. Table location was given no consideration, the nicest table given to a young lady on her own reading a book. Unlikely to eat again here. Pricewise ok not expensive.

We recently stayed in Newquay for a few days. One of the first things we did was to book a meal in the restaurant. We have eaten here before a couple of years ago and were looking forward to eating here again. What a disappointment, I had to wait 55 minutes for my food and when it arrived it looked lovely, however that was it, it tasted bland and I ended up leaving half of it. We wanted another drink , however gave up as no one came. I was looking forward to dessert but after waiting a further 15 minutes gave up and went to the bar to pay. I explained how disappointed I was and was passed a form to complete, with a blunt pencil to write with. I am totally disgusted, will never eat there again and will not be recommending it to anyone, I would be embarrassed.

“Very Good”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

Overall this restaurant was very good, lovely decor, great food and fantastic view. There were a couple of little niggles however. Although the staff were very friendly they let themselves down with a couple of little discrepancies. The first was that we were asked if we would like a jug of water, we said yes but we never received one and the second was that the Salmon was advertised as being served with polenta chips but when it came it was with new potatoes. When we mentioned this to the waitress we didn't really receive an explanation as to why this happened and no apology, just that she would mention it to the chef. Aside from these diecrepancies though (and they did not spoil our enjoyment), it was a very good dining experience and we would definitely return.
