We looked for somewhere to stay very last minute (the day before we wanted to travel) and only picked ocean gaze as it was one of the only places available that we could stay for a long weekend rather than a whole week with our baby and dog.
On the morning that we travelled the owner called me and told me she had left us bread, milk etc and said the apartment was ready for us.
When we arrived we were very pleasantly surprised. The views out the front were just amazing, looking out to sea. The apartment itself is clean, tidy and has everything you need for rainy days and beach days. There were binoculars which also came in useful. I was looking out to sea after an amazing sunset and saw dolphins! There was a travel cot, high chair and baby blankets that we could have used if we needed to and a large fan as it was very hot.
Our last minute holiday was definitely a good find and we would definitely stay again. Thank you so much for a lovely weekend getaway!
Myself, my wife and two teenage children had a 4 night stay at this lovely 2nd floor apartment, 5 minutes drive up the coast from Newquay.
On arrival, there was a fresh loaf of bead, butter and jam laid out, which was a nice welcome after our 4 hour drive.
The kitchen diner provides all the necessities and the living room is spacious and very comfortable. The view from the living room is fabulous, looking down on to Porth Beach and out across the ocean.
The two bedrooms are a good size with built in wardrobes and plenty of additional drawer space available.
The living room has an ‘Alexa,’ TV and DVD (with good selection of films available). The Super Nintendo was a great addition but we all struggled just to get out of the apartment on a daily basis, for wanting just one more round on MarioKart.
Due to the weather, we did spend a considerable amount of time in the apartment and I have to say it was a very comfortable place to be. We have all commented on missing it since we’ve come home.
The only negative I would say was that the hot running water was scauldingly hot - be warned.
But all in all, we would definitely stay here again, and would recommend to friends and family.
Very nice apartment with a fantastic sea view, second to none
Everything we needed was available although a couple more saucepans would be useful, we had to buy some
The stairs were very demanding and would stop us returning however that was our fault and so could not reflect on your property
All in all a very good choice and we have already recommended to friends
An outstanding apartment with an outstanding view. The apartment is clean, light and comfortable, made more so by the welcoming touches left by the owners. Fantastic walks along the coastal paths.
I can't say enough good things about this apartment. I disagree with the review stating that a car is essential as myself and my son have just spent a wonderful week here without a car. Easy to take shopping from Newquay on bus which stops right outside or a taxi for £5.
Wonderful beaches on the doorstep and for the brave and relatively fit, the coast path from Whipsiderry to Bedruthan is incredible. We caught a bus back from Mawgan Porth.
The apartment is light, clean, and very comfortable. It is obvious from arrival that the owners care about their guests. A crusty loaf, jam, milk, tea, biscuits, choccies etc. really appreciated. Music courtesy of Alexa. Everything you could need provided.
At the risk of stating the obvious, you do hear traffic as you are on the main coast road. I always sleep with a window open but it didn't really impact on my enjoying hearing the constant roar of the sea and the wind whistling around the cliffs. Having a cup of tea in bed each morning with that view was marvelous.
Great views from this apartment, a 40 minute walk into Newquay town centre for shops and restaurants if you do not want to use local facilities ( 6 minutes in taxi).
The apartment was clean and well furnished and the owners had really done a good job to make the apartment a home from home along with welcoming touches , milk, bread ,butter and other bits and pieces, everything we needed was in the apartment, overall a very good value apartment.
It would be nice if all holiday apartment owners could where possible fit
blackout blinds in bedrooms so that you are not woken at the crack of dawn when on holiday.
Situated on coastal path great for walking great beaches and fantastic views. Very relaxing and close enough to Newquay and shops for all the activities you associate with Newquay and the sea.
Well equipped flat , easy to find and free parking and free Wi-Fi. Owners very helpful ,easy to book and quick to respond to questions etc.
On arrival nice touch with essentials in flat especially as we arrived after 9 on the Saturday.
Flat is on second floor and this might be an issue as no lift in flat. Not a problem for us.
Great week away and will consider coming again. What else can I say.
