“Not for those on a tight budget”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

A friend was celebrating her birthday and decided she would like a walk with all of our dogs along Watergate Bay followed by lunch at Fifteen (also Watergate Bay). Excercise over we went onto Fifteen slightly earlier than our reservation. I had been told by friends who had been to Fifteen a couple of years ago, that I would probably come out feeling hungry .... this wasn't the case. We had a couple of share boards for the eight of us comprising mainly of local antipasto style produce, and then some members of our party went on to entrees. The mackeral looked nicely presented but then it's pretty hard to spoil the look of a juicy mackeral. I opted for a simple rissotto 'primo' and got exactly what I expected and in an amount that towards the end I struggled through, nice enough but not out of this world. Others ordered lamb or pork both of which were on the tough side ... no forgiveness there I'm afraid. All of the female waiting staff who attended to our table were gracious and not at all patronising (we've certainly met some of those before) , unlike the male waiters who looked like they weren't having "a good day" and would rather be out on surfboards, in fact some looked like they had just come in from the surf! All in all a nice enough luncheon but not for a cost of £45 per head excluding wine/beverages. So if you are on a tight budget I would look elsewhere (The Lowennack overlooking Pentire Beach for example).

“Beautiful food”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We had a wonderful tasting menu for dinner.
The restaurant has a wonderful feel right on the beach and the staff could not have been more helpful.
We enjoyed all the courses but particularly the seafood risotto which was divine.
Thank you and we look forward to visiting again.

“Not as good as it thinks it is”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Ten of us booked for breakfast recently. Having looked at the menu prior to booking, we knew in advance that the prices were on the high side (e.g. Fifteen fry up £9.95, Pot of Coffee £7.50, Orange juice £3.50) but for a special occasion were willing to pay a little more. Service was just fine - the Press pot of Finca Shekinah coffee is an unusual device which pours from the side. We were not warned about this so lost half a pot over the table. The waitress, when we eventually managed to get her attention, half-heartedly apologised but did not offer napkins to wipe it up or a refill of the coffee pot. Other staff appeared to be going through the motions with a lack of both genuine warmth and enthusiasm (although it was 9am in the morning sp perhaps that can be excused). Food was, again, fine but nothing to sing about and not worth the price, which when drinks are added came to a pretty heft amount for a rather small breakfast. All in all, we were left with a perception of a 'we don't need to try to hard' attitude and left slightly disappointed.

“Wonderful Experience”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Booked the "Taste of the Bay" package from Watergate Bay Hotel which included the six dish taster menu at 15. We arrived at 1930 and were met by Mick who was our waiter for the evening. As it was quite quiet Mick ran knowledgeably through the menu explaining what each dish consisted of and how it was prepared. Each dish was smashing with plenty of flavours and we had time between each course to have a chat with our friends before the next course arrived. We had a wonderful evening with lovely food washed down with two bottles of excellent wine. Mick waited on us throughout the meal and nothing was too much trouble for him. Would definitely return as it was such a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
