Stayed in this Hotel for our Anniversary and it was brilliant. Had a bit of a problem with booking, tried to book direct with the hotel but was very pricey, booked with booking.com and got a really good deal. Everything about it was good, the location, food and the room, well worth the money( if you book through Booking.com) will be visiting again.

Fantastic Hotel room with two patio doors onto balcony with views to die for .Room was a suite with large comfy bed and luxorious spa bath complete with white robes . Everything we expected with more during our two night stay. Dinner was excellant as well as breakfast. We also ate at 2 Fore st. which was also very good . Staff at Hotel were very very good and attentive without being in your face we shall be back.

We really enjoyed our stay here in Mousehole. We booked through a last minute website, so got a great deal on the price of B&B here. When we checked in the hotel offered to bring the price of our room down further if we booked for dinner; however, we had a reservation elsewhere ( more of which later).
Our room had just been refurbished to a high standard, and it had a seaview from one of it's four windows. Very comfortable bed and a nice bath.
We went for a meal at '2 Fore Street' which was simply fantastic. What a great addition to the town! Following that we walked around the corner to The Ship Inn for a pint - home of the famous star gazey pie once a year.
Breakfast at the hotel the next morning was very good - with a table overlooking the beach and prompt service.
The only drawback was waiting for the receptionist to appear when we booked in and then on booking out the next receptionist couldn't believe the deal on the room we had and tried to get us to pay more. A little disappointing, but overall we had a lovely stay, just let down by some details at reception!

My partner was suffering with a leg injury and was really pleased when he was told that we'd have a ground floor room. Little were we to know just how wonderful it was! We had a suite with its own bathroom and balcony and for a very reasonable price. The same price as a standard room, I believe. We were on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. The dinner was sumptuous, beautifully prepared and the member of staff assigned to us (waitress is the wrong word) couldn't have been more helpful, charming and courteous. I have one or two special dietary needs and they were well catered for. We also stayed at OCGH in January '08 and got a special offer, the same suite (with private bathroom) for £30 per night plus dinner and breakfast. We'd definitely stay there again. Many local people recommend this hotel, so I would advise that visitors leave Penzance and get a cab (or shuttle bus) down to Mousehole and stay at the Old Coast Guard Hotel. We loved it, decor, views and service all excellent - and with access through lovely gardens to the coast path and beach. Thoroughly recommeded.

After staying here before my standards were already high and we were left more than satisfied with everything from the prices to the passion fruit parfait. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and the food was even better which we did not think possible... Cant wait to go back in Easter.....

We stayed here for one night after a recommendation from our hotel in St. Ives. The parking was a little tight but we were able to squeek into a spot in the parking lot next to the hotel. The hotel cost us 95L which, since we are from the states, was a little costly for us. The views from the hotel breakfast room made up for the cost. The rooms could use some updating for the price. They do have computer access, although it took us close to a half hour to get it up and running. Thank God for the teenager that worked in the restaurant. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was the best that we had all week. If you go, make sure you get down to the breakfast room for sunrise. It is incredible. You can walk along the water and see the ships going out and fantastic views of St. Michaels Mount and Penzance. We were able to walk around town at night and the only pub around was just a block away. We were lucky enough to be there for a traditional Sunday dinner that still has me wishing to be back there. I would recommend this hotel and Mousehole as a whole.

Stayed three nights at the Old Coastguard with my wife and two daughters. My daughters stayed in a room within the "Lodge" whilst my wife and I had the unusal experience of having a different room for each night of our stay (we had agreed to this beforehand as we had booked at fairly late notice)

Good points included the stunning sea views from all (sea-view facing!) rooms, the rosette awarded resturant food- absolutely superb, and most of the staff who were very friendly and helpful (esp on reception).

The main area for possible improvement is the bathrooms which are basic and lacked imagination (even in the deluxe room where it was huge but not as well equiped/furnished as it might be). Our children were not as enthused about the restuarant as we were- not a very child or teen friendly menu and the restuarant also lacked ambiance somehow despite the quality of the food. As an alternative a new restuarant has just been opened on the sea-front in Mousehole by an ex Raymond Blanc chef- try them both!

Overall we had a very good stay and left with a positive view of the hotel. It is an old building so there will be the odd problem with leaky radiators and heating but it makes up for this in its charm and those views.
