Another great short break at the ship inn.Room 3 in the pub a real gem with a stunning view over the harbour we stayed for two nights. Staff, food as ever faultless. Parking at the harbour is a very short walk from the Inn at only £3.00 per day great walks in the area.

Room Tip: Room 3 fantastic view worth the extra cost.

The pub itself is in a stunning setting right on the side of the harbour. Parking is available nearby, we parked on the harbour wall which cost just £3 a day.
We spent 3 nights at the ship in room 6. Lovely room although a little small and the air conditioning is noisy until late, although we did get used to it.
We ate on all 3 nights in the pub and found the food to be fresh and good value. The fish we ate there was excellent. All the staff were very friendly and efficient and made for a really enjoyable stay, particularly Lara who was a real gem, always happy to help, give advice on local places to visit etc; and even found something we had left behind and offered to post it on for us.
We would love to go back and will definitely do so if we have a chance!

Room Tip: Room 6 has some noise from AC unit.

We stayed here for 1 night earlier this week. We arrived having just completed our cycle tour from John O'Groats to Lands End so arrived by bike pretty tired and just wanting a hot shower, however despite the fact we had booked they weren't sure where the room key was and we had to wait whilst they looked for the room key. The guy behind the bar was very friendly and as helpful as he could be with this, it was just unfortunate really as it wasn't what we needed at that moment!

The room itself was fine - we'd booked it on an October deal they were offering so got it slightly cheaper so paid an extra £5 for a room with "harbour views" but you could only see the harbour when standing right by the window, from the rest of the room you could just see the wall of another house. The room was fairly small as was the en suite and whilst everything was fine, clean and not badly decorated, there were several little touches which would have made the place feel much nicer (replacing a missing curtain hook, wiping the mildew from the sash window frame, dusting the edging on the shower, replacing the toilet seat which is strangely battered looking and hiding the mess of pipework by the toilet/sink area).

We didn't eat here as the room didn't inspire confidence in the food so we went elsewhere to eat. As for breakfast; they don't serve until 9am on the weekends which just seems a bit too late and we were catching a train from Penzance at 10am so had to leave at 8:30 to get there by bike in enough time. They offered what they told us was a continental 'tea and toast' type breakfast from 8am which we booked for but when we arrived at 5 past 8 there was no chef there to make toast and they only arrived at 8:20, meaning by the time we actually got some toast we had to wolf it down and dash off quick. The waitress was understanding of our hurry and very good - the staff seemed to do their best and were all very nice - I guess the problem is just that compared to the B and Bs we've been staying in it was all a bit impersonal as a service.

All in all it was fine as a place to stay in Mousehole but our first choice was a B and B we were unable to get a booking at and next time my preference would be to stay elsewhere. We felt like we were simply paying for the location rather than the room or service.

Room Tip: Room 7 doesn't have a proper full-on harbour view unless you stand right by the window (though t...

We were staying in Mousehole to go to the Proms performance at the Minnack theatre with friends. What a great pub! Our stay began with an excellent lunch, though we hadn't booked a table, they just fitted us in. The staff were really friendly! My wife and I shared 2 starter portions of kalamari and mussels - absolutely delicious! We then ate dinner in the evening - again the food was excellent - my wife had a delicious portion of fresh haddock and I had the bbq spare ribs - wow! I only just managed to leave space for the excellent cheese board. Our room overlooked the harbour - it wasn't big - but the view easily made up for that! A top recommendation for this great pub!

Room Tip: Room 2 overlooking the harbour

we didn't stay here but were in Mousehole for a week. we visited this Inn on several occasions and found the Staff very efficient and friendly, the food was good and well priced and the atmosphere pleasant. The roof terrace is a little sun trap and is a 2 min walk from the nearest carpark.

A lovely pub with accommodation, overlooking the harbour. A very nice bar with a good atmosphere, serving quality food and a good selection of ales. The staff were friendly and efficient, making this a pleasant place to visit. We stayed at the Ship Inn for one night, and based on a previous comment on Trip Advisor, we specifically requested a harbour-facing view in the main Inn. Although this request was confirmed by email by their staff, on arrival we were informed that there was a 'problem with the water supply' in that room, and we were reluctantly switched to accommodation in their property next door to the Ship Inn. The room we stayed in was clean and tidy, but quite small and with only a partial view of the harbour. A disappointment. We didn't get to see the rooms in the actual Inn, so not possible to comment on them.

Room Tip: Get a harbour view room in the main Inn.....if you can..!!

My friend and I were recently staying in Mousehole for a few days and found the Ship Inn to be a most welcoming place to be in. The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. The food was excellent, beautiful local fresh ingredients cooked to perfection by the wonderful Chef Tracy and her team, she was even kind and generous enough to share her fabulous recipe for Smoked Haddock Rarebit with us, simply one of the best fish dishes I have ever tasted.
I can highly recommend it and will certainly be visiting again. The whole place has a lovely friendly atmosphere, I very much look forward to my next trip to Mousehole.

Room Tip: I did not actually stay at The Ship, just had two delicious dinners there. many thanks to all the st...
