Have been going to the the ship for a few years when down on our holidays and feel the place is getting comfortable in its captured audience. The young staff are very pleasant, especially Jethro but the bar manager blows hot and cold depending on when she is at work or off duty and sitting with her friends and family and dog whining its way through the evening! The menu has been paired back and whilst what is great value for money you don't feel you could eat there more than a couple of times during your stay. Did not feel as welcome this year and went elsewhere more than we have in the past.

Typical seaside pub that cares about its customers. Great feeling on arrival. Warmly welcomed by the staff who were equally pleased to see the kids. Excellent choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Food choices were excellent and the portions were very generous. If you're not a big eater it would be a good idea to tell the staff when you order.
The Inn was very busy but the staff were very friendly and we never felt rushed.
Heartily recommend it to all.

Decent pub food in pretty little village! The menu is rather typical for a pub. The quality of the food is ok and staff friendly!

Excellent (evening) bar service and obliging, well organised, staff even though the place was, unsurprisingly, very busy. Generous portions. The more elegant restaurant was fully booked - again, no surprise there. We would certainly go again but would try to book the restaurant in advance.

Ate here recently and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Catch of the Day - the haddock served was a match for any fish and chip shop.
The staff were friendly and polite - we heard customer's being addressed as 'sir' by the bar staff, now that's a rarity these days.... such a refreshing change since so many places let themselves down with their front of house staff. We'll be back!
