We've just spent short break in Looe & whilst looking at a menu outside another place, a gentleman came up and told us to try the Sail Loft instead as food was better. Took his advice, managed to get a table and had the most delicious bowl of fish chowder ever, although all the menu looked delicious. Atmosphere was wonderful - warm, welcoming and great staff, very polite and attentive, but willing to stop and chat. Not rushed at all and would definitely vote it way above other restaurants in Looe. Many thanks to that gentleman for recommending it - we then recommended it to everyone else at our B&B...................

During a long weekend in Looe in September, this was the best restaurant we ate in. The crab and prawn fish cake starter was wonderful. The service was friendly and efficient.

It was very quiet when we went there, seems like it's more of an evening venue. The staff were friendly and helpful, we were seated upstairs with a good view over the water. Decor is charming if a bit dated, but the food was excellent. We both had seafood dishes, lovely presentation and perfectly cooked. Would definitely go back there.

Managed to get a table at this popular Looe restaurant at short notice. Being a very old building, unless you get a table next to one of the very few small windows, there is no view. Saying that, we were seated upstairs and were able to take in the lovely wooden beams in the roof space. I was initially concerned by some of the negative reviews regarding service, but needn't have worried, the three serving staff in attendance were attentive and very friendly. My starter was fabulous, scallops and chorizo bruscettta, my wife the pear and duck salad which was ok but just lacked something. We normally go for different mains, but this time the cod with chorizo bubble and squeak was both our choice. The shared trio of deserts was so good, if we had room, we would have ordered another one, in the end it was a battle of spoons for the final mouthful.
