“The Perfect Hosts & Stay”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, I phoned ahead and advised of my many food intolerances. Jule's and Graham, went above and beyond to accomodate them. From the outset, we were relaxed and taken care of. We had to wait a while to get our dates as they are exceptionally busy- however it was most definetley worth it. Graham suggested the Rashleigh Inn, in Polkerris, parking was to the side, so perfect, the staff were fabulous as was the food. We have stayed in and around the Looe area a few times now and would recommend Penvith Barns - in fact you would be foolish not too!!!

My wife and I visited Penvith Barns in September 2012 and from the moment we arrived were made to feel most welcome by Jules who went out of her way to ensure we had all the information we needed. We also met Graham, Penvith's other host who also made us feel very welcome. Both hosts were knowledgable and gave us much valued information about the locality. To say we enjoyed ourselves during the days we stayed was understatement with a fantastic room, beautiful surrounds and within a short distance of Looe and Polperro, what more could you ask for!

A couple of places to try for food are the Coplers Arms (about 4 miles away) and the Granary (about half a mile away) although the latter lacked atmosphere but the food was good. On a final note, we enjoyed Graham's version of Lonely Boy by Andrew Gold however I would stick to running your business and forget x-factor (you had to be there!)

Thanks again guys and we will be back and are also considering your apartment in Looe. Looks amazing.

Penvith Barns is in a great location, very quiet, easy to find (the directions on the website are great!) and nearby Looe is a hive of activity with lots to offer. It's close to many good tourist attractions and in a beautiful setting. We stayed in the Piggery. It's small but perfectly formed and has all you need. I took my two year old son with me and he loved it. Graham took us to feed their chickens and stroke their tame sheep which was a wonderful experience and really made us feel at home. The sheep are especially friendly & definitely worth meeting! The breakfast was huge, filling and top quality whether you had the full English or the continental it was all a very high standard and Jules & Graham were very helpful and accommodating if you wanted to change something or needed the Vegetarian option. A great place to visit, which we definitely hope to return to next year.

Room Tip: The Piggery is separate from the house, which is quite handy if you have a small, noisy baby with yo...

We have never stopped anywhere like this before. Its so relaxing and quite. Just off the beaten track to be close enough, If you know what i mean. Its very clean with all you need. The hosts you will not find better. Graham's weather forecasts and knowledge of pubs is better than google. As for the breakfasts. they are to die for. Not forgetting Jules. she is a jewel !!!! the pair made our stay special. we will be back. the worse part is what to choose for breakfast. Its all delicious. thank you very much. best wishes Dave and Caroline.

We had a great five nights at Penvith, stayed in the Haybarn, Jules and Graham have maintained the high standards of Alison and Peter so no worries there, the breakfasts are excellent with a varied menu.
We have been staying at Penvith for over ten years and hope to continue doing so, its in an ideal location to strike out and explore the rest of Cornwall which has so much to offer being steeped in history and having so many little undicovered coves and beaches if you take the time and trouble to go off the beaten track a little more.
Have a great stay.

Spent 2 nights at Penvith Barns in the Piggery. Had a wonderful time (weather permitting). Jules and Graham were the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much bother for them, Graham even gave us the name of the butcher where he buys his black pudding from where we called into the shop on the way home to buy some to take back home to South Wales...... the taste is fantastic and our welsh black pudding is not a patch on this stuff!!.. The breakfast is out of this world and we did not need to eat until the evening because we were so full!! well done Graham!!.. Penvith Barns is a lovely welcoming place and we will recommend to anyone.
