We struggled to make a reservation and eventually found their number.

We went with friends and the restaurant was fairly busy. I had prawns and squid for starters which was delicious and everyone else had the crab, which looked equally lovely and they all thoroughly enjoyed.

Mains, three of us had the Fish/Seafood Special with pastry top and bottom and we shared a side order of veg (which was needed) and this was absolutely delicious. So tasty and the cream/wine sauce certainly complimented the food. Our other friend enjoyed the lobster.

For dessert, we opted for the cheesecake, but never seems to be quite so appealing when I see the dessert come out of a cardboard box! If you are going to prepare a dessert for guests, please prepare it where we can't see it being prepared. Enjoying the surprise is so much better than watching it being prepared.

Waiting staff: just need training! Being attentive, observing that we have no cutlery, noticing that we still have a menu and no drinks when they come to take our order. Asking if we would like wine with dinner, asking if we would like coffee, not to have to keep chasing for the bill! I appreciate that getting waiting staff is not easy, however, the ones you do employ, please just train them and have them doing the easy jobs that take time, like making coffee!

The restaurant was relaxing and fresh, had beautiful sea views.

The food was excellent, the service could have been better, it was value for money and we all enjoyed it and would certainly visit again.

Found this by chance and managed to get a table, which overlooked the sea. Very tasty food, freshly prepared at a relaxed pace. Look out for the daily specials.

We ate here twice on holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal both times. The menu is fairly simple, but well cooked. The strawberry fool for dessert was more of an Eton mess than a fool, but delicious, so who cares?

Having previously had a lovey meal under previous ownership we booked again for a family get together.

It was initially difficult to make contact to book a table as no answer on the phone over a few days. Eventually made contact after a Facebook post in the Looe group to see if anyone locally could help us with a number.

The starter (prawns) were absolutely lovely and cooked to perfection.

However the mains (beef x2, scallops and sea bream) were disappointing and overpriced for the quality. The beef was pretty bland (although cooked nicely). The cheese board was a bit of a joke really. No chutney, grapes or celery. Lots of biscuits and crackers though.

£150 bill and no thanks for the 10% tip - left us leaving feeling like we had been ripped off.

As regulars in the Looe restaurants we won’t be going back here.

Consistently great fresh seafood, I know ownership has changed recently and having been big fans of the previous owner we were really pleased to see the new owners have stepped up to the mark and are delivering excellent food at quite modest prices.
I know a few people complain about the service but they employ local staff perhaps not used to the big city establishments and though they might not always be as quick or attentive I think this adds to the relaxed ambience of the place!
