“Very pleasantly surprised”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

I don't know why but we had been dubious about trying this place. We'd been in Looe the year before and didn't go so this time we thought we'd give it a go and had wanted to try tapas for some time. We didn't want lots to eat so this suited us just fine. We were advised to order approximately 3 dishes each so ordered just less than that due to our lack of appetites. We were very impressed and it was just right for us.
Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - pity this isn't just around the corner from where we live!

“You have to try the Cornish Chorizo!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

Even though it wasn't what you would call traditional chorizo, it was amazing! The flavour was just something else, also had the olive's in breadcrumbs - never had olives cooked, but again so good! Love atmosphere as well and the wine measures are the best!

“Delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2013

As soon as we finished our first meal here we booked for the next night. The pizzas are some of the best we've had in any restaurant with unusual but tasty toppings. The selection of tapas worked well with the pizza and the drinks were reasonably priced. The Brandy Alexander cocktail was delicious.

“Brilliant food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

We were despairing of finding decent food in Looe until we happened across Zute. Food really is exceptional, and the pizzas especially are massive with a huge amount of really innovative toppings. Staff were brilliant but the problem is that they are marketing themselves as a bar, so unless you KNOW the food is great, you'd walk on by. We were there early (6.30) but were the only people in there for a long time, until a couple of others just came in for a drink, so atmosphere was lacking. I kept wanting to go to the door and shout "Come in... the food is great!" So basically, brilliant food but a bit of an identity problem!

“Ok...worth a visit. But not great and nothing special.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

We ate here one night on our holiday to looe...

food was good... cant complain. Portion sizes a little on the small side but im pregnant so eating like a wild boar at the moment...

The young male waiter that greeted us seemed promising as he described the special to us with a degree of passion.. he was very polite.

The waitress that served us and took our order was ok.. managed to mess the order up so we had to wait for one dish so no drama.

food was good. Prices a little ott.... £6 for a meze / tapas dish is quite a lot... in plymouth they were charging £4-5 per mezee dish. Puddings were really good though we were all impressed with them.

Atmosphere was quiet at first as we were early (took our toddler) but then a large party came in and it did pick up.

Felt a bit like our toddler was not welcome but nothing to really substantiate this but a hunch.

Overall good... would eat there again. Just not my first choice.
