The Courtyard is a real favourite with all of our family. Great food, atmosphere and service. Pet friendly too. The food is clearly home cooked and the portions are generous. We'll be back - again! Lovely to sit outside too.

Looking for lunch Friday 16 May with our little dog in tow we stumbled across the Courtyard.
The service was very good with the waitress advising us on the menu.
We did not have to wait long for the meal; it was presented well and tasted lovely. I had fish and chips which had three types of fish which had been landed on the adjacent quay earlier that morning.
No problems at all with The Courtyard and will definitely call again when in Looe

Inside the place was a shambles, replace the tables, repaint the chairs and fit them all with matching cushions of better quality. Rip out the bar area and just have a display with the cakes in the glass domes. It is just a messy messy area. Oh, and get rid of the two wor and gross looking settes and the wooden box coffee table between them, put in more tables, it'll give more income space.
Get the boys to agree what fresh fish is, so that the boss lady does not walk in and add 3 days to the fresh "caught by our own boat this morning' the boys said this Sunday morning, the lady (who seemed to be in charge) came to take our order and said the boat had not been out since Friday. Still fresh if kept properly, but do not tell us it was caught this morning. The breaded fish in the 'fish3ways' was just like factory frozen supermarket, so the chef worked hard to make fresh caught seem like factory frozen. To finish the waiter told me to come to him, when I asked for the bill, I expected it at the table but he refused, there were only 2tables occupied for Sunday lunch, enough said. Chips were really good. Out door needed a good revamp, a pressure washer on the table would help. The dustbin bag protecting the outside lighting cable joints, could get them in real trouble on a rainy day.
