“30 mile trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

We ate here last year when staying in Looe. This year we stayed in Fowey but made a 60 mile round trip to eat here again. It was just as good as last year and well worth the trip. The fillet steak is to die for and i would not like to meet the cow it came from (huge). The pasta dishes are also very tasty. It would be very rare that a table would be available on speck so booking is adviseable as restaurant is very small. Food,Service and ambiance excellant

“THE BEST LITTLE RESTAURANT IN LOOE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

We had three meals here during our 2 week stay and the food is top class and well cooked.
This small but intimate restaurant really is worth a try.
The staff are very welcoming even to tourists and the front of house known as 'J' made us feel as if we were locals not just tourists.
The fillet steaks and the fish are of top quality and we enjoyed every meal we had.
The service was excellent as always. The only downside is that they do not accept debit/credit cards.
We will be back next year.

“Great local lobster”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2013

There are two seatings at this popular restaurant. We were lucky enough to be able to get into the early seating, even though the later one was booked. It is an Italian and a seafood restaurant. I ordered the half lobster special. It was a very large portion of delicious local lobster in a terrific sauce with little prawns. The lobster was put back into the shell, and was easy to eat. My husband had fish, and enjoyed it very much.

“Best we have eaten since we left Italy!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2013

We both had pasta dishes to start which were almost, if not AS GOOD as the REAL PASTA you get in Italy! My husband had the fillet steak which was the largest we have ever seen! The entire meal was stunning and fantastic value! We will be traveling out of our way, just to eat there!

“Fabulous Food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013 via mobile

We had read on TA that this place was well thought of by other visitors. How right they were. We booked ahead to ensure we had a table reserved. Given the intimate size of the restaurant it is to be advised. We received a very warm welcome on arrival and seated in the window table. The place has a lovely rustic charm which certainly, for us, added to the experience. The menu choice is good and we were offered a range of starters and main courses off the specials board. We both went for the Pate starter, which was served with thick cut toast. We only managed two out of the four slices to avoid being full before the main course. For main course we went for the half a Lobster Thermidor, billed as the restaurant speciality and the Pasta with Prawns & Salmon. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, well cooked and presented very nicely. The portion size is large, so much so that we didn't trouble the dessert menu. We choose a glass of the house Rose wine, which was very nice, always s good indication as to the quality of the wine list. Overall, we loved the place and would have no hesitation to eat there again. It serves good quality dishes with attentive service. The prices are no more than equivalent high end places and the place adds wonderfully to the Looe good food scene. Enjoy.
