“Perfectly positioned, perfectly appointed”
Reviewed April 17, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

This apartment is ideal for a family visit, it is very cosy and comfortable and ideally situated. It is very well appointed, very clean and fresh, there are quality fixtures and fittings, when you need it the heating and Wifi are fab. Everything you need is there for a self catering/lots of takeaways !! hols. The decor is lovely, there are some lovely touches that make you feel the owner has really thought about the ambiance !!. There is no outside space but we knew that when we booked it, it was not a problem at all, there is obviously a massive bonus that the apartment is only a few steps away from the lovely beach. You can just nip out and sit on the beach/pier anytime you like, the kids loved this as they are just starting to spread their wings (13 and 9 yrs). Also you can pop out to sit with a glass of wine/hot chocolate which was nice. There are many cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops, there is something in Looe for everybody. Once settled in you will not need to drive anywhere. We enjoyed 'crabbing' , the Indian for a takeaway, The Catch for Fish and Chips. The two small Co-op shops catered for every whim. There are loads of pubs, most are dog friendly but all had a community feel, we felt very welcome. We walked from Looe to Polperro along the costal path, 5.7 miles with a stop at Talland Bay for a cream tea, a few hills along the way but not bad, nice route to run/jog for those with more energy to burn. All in all a great place to stay.

“Great seaside weekend escape”
Reviewed March 26, 2017 for a stay in March 2017

This is a lovely little apartment right next to the beach in Looe. Really cosy apartment. Comfy bed. Good bath and shower. Nice and peaceful. Everything you need. The beach is literally right by the apartment. We had beautiful sunny weather all weekend and enjoyed strolling around the town, the beach and taking in the local sights.

“Absolutely fantastic”
Reviewed January 11, 2015 for a stay in October 2014

Stayed for five days in October for 40th birthday.
The cottage was everything and more, like home from home with everything catered for.
The sea front and all amenities were seconds away.
We had an amazing time and the cottage was a dream, perfectly situated by the sea, beautiful interior and over all a very high standard.
We will return and recommend.

“Truly Wonderful”
Reviewed December 30, 2014 for a stay in December 2014

My family and I stayed at the Old Museum in Looe for the Christmas week. The booking process and straight-forward communication led me to believe the property would similarly perfect, which it was.

Situated in a beautiful back street, just a stones throw from the beach, the quay, and the High Street, the location was ideal.

The property itself was presented to a high standard, with quality yet homely fixtures and fittings. It felt like a home as soon as we arrived.

All the usual creature comforts were on hand; hot shower, nice bath, extremely comfortable lounge, excellent kitchen facilities, and cosy bedrooms with high quality furniture and linen.

Car parking was provided which was a 20 second walk from the property and from what we saw in Looe, this was a real luxury.

We rated this to be one of best family holidays to date, and we felt that The Old Museum was the deciding factor in that.

“Brilliant place to stay - once you have braved Looe traffic.”
Reviewed August 21, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We were a family of 2 grandparents, daughter and granddaughter. The apartment was extremely well appointed and comfortable, with 1 double bedroom, 1 single and an enormous convertible sofa bed. The harbour and super sandy beach were less than 2 minutes away. Good crabbing places on quay. The designated parking space was also very close and essential. Looe shops were just around the corner and the streets were very quaint and busy.

Places we recommend: excellent cream teas at Daisy's, a very family friendly cafe; a lovely evening meal at The Old Sail Loft, full of atmosphere; The Catch for fish and chips; ice creams in every flavour, plus enormous Mr Whippy's with flake at the shop just round the corner from the apartment.

Visits to Polperro, very smugglerish with lots of charming little coves; Jamaica Inn on Bodmin Moor; Fowey, beautiful bay with good bus and lovely sea trips, go early as parking can be difficult.

Liked best: Being so central with car park close by.
Liked least: Braving Looe pedestrians and traffic in narrow streets when going to apartment for the first time.

Thank you for your review.
Traffic is a problem in season throughout Cornwall. Almost all the towns and villages are difficult to drive through. However, once you have parked up you don't have to use your car at all. Polperro is well worth a visit. You can do this by boat, walking or bus. Also the tiny train will take you to Liskerd for onward connections to most other places in Cornwall.

“Beautiful place to stay right in the heart of Looe”
Reviewed June 17, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Our family spent a week in this lovely accommodation in a glorious week in June. My 3 year old son was comfy sleeping in the single room and we shared the double with our 8month old in his travel cot. The apartment is located very close to the beach and the ice cream shops. As others have said, the facilities are of a high standard. There is stone flooring throughout which meant being careful the baby didn't topple over too much, but we got in to the habit of leaving cushions behind him! Being so close to the town with all it's lovely shops and cafes and the beach (good for sandcastles and rock pools) meant we hardly used the car, although having the parking space was a big plus. The only downside is that being tucked away in a quaint little street, you can't see much of the sky to judge the weather but you only have to step a few yards from the front door to admire the lovely views across the beach or down to the river and harbour. The owner is very friendly to deal with and over all I would certainly recommend a stay here.

These are fishermen cottages and fishing net store originally. Like fishermen all over the world they have no interest in looking at the sea or weather when they are at home. Interestingly Looe is one of the few towns in the country that has actually been designed before it was built on a sand split in the fifteenth century. This is the reason that we have what are called locally as the “Back Streets”.
So glad you enjoyed your stay and I do hope we will see you again soon.
