A Monday evening in March and the place was very busy, tho to be fair, there wasn’t really anything else open! It was quite cosy looking and the friendly staff fit us in on a small table in the corner. We both had a spicy pork dish, which was very nice and the dessert was nice too, tho we felt it a little on the pricy side for pub food.

Looe is such a beautiful part of Cornwall, and Smugglers Cot take advantage of such a location with a fine menu of locally caught seafood, the service was attentive and warm whilst the food was cooked very well. A great little spot if you're looking for somewhere to try in the area.

Disappointed with Smugglers Cott. Gigantic portions, I had mixed grill and I felt defeated before I even started... far too much food on the plate & the sauces to accompany (peppercorn etc) were £2.50 each & served in a teeny tiny pot which was nowhere near enough in comparison to the mountain of meat on the plate! The waitress was very nice however and asked if I wanted a doggy bag (I did indeed give the leftovers to the dog...) Food was overpriced pub grub but the meat was well cooked to be fair.
Drinks were very pricey £4 for a small bottle of cider - we wouldn't return to Smugglers Cot there are far nicer places to eat in Looe (our favourite was the Old Sail Loft).

Having had a suprise couple of nights away with hubby we ate here on 2nd night....being it a Weds in march it was actually very busy, waitress was alone wrking and initially we thought oh God its going to be chaos as we ourselves are publicans and sensed she was stressed..BUT she coped extremely well and the food was amazing.... wish we had ate there both nights as lots to choose from and atmosphere was great....well done to the waitress and chef!!!!
The only negative, if i had to be critical is lack of dessert choice...but i was so full from starter and main who needs a dessert, few less calories for me to feel guilty about!....We will def return if in Looe anytime again...
