Description: Welcome to Squid Ink restaurant situated in the historic fishing port of Looe in South East Cornwall. This intimate 32 cover restaurant is owned by Looe resident Adrian Woodward and first opened in 2008. The restaurant itself is housed within a character filled period building dating back more than 300 years.Looe is a pretty seaside town and important Cornish port selling mainly day caught fish from small trawlers, netting boats and line fishing boats, where the highest EU quality level of E (excellent) is electronically `attached' to almost every box of fish. Day boats are considered one of the more sustainable ways to fish, and they also provide the freshest fish.We are committed to offering outstanding service and our menu includes dishes suitable for allergy sufferers or those just wishing to avoid certain foods such as seafood, gluten or dairy. If however you have any additional dietary requirements you are welcome to discuss them with the chef who will endeavour to accommodate them.

We visited looe for our first anniversary so we booked in at squid ink. The food was absolutely amazing and we weren't rushed at all so we could just take our times and have a drink. Lovely place and very friendly staff, we would definitely recommend squid ink. We will visit again next time we're in looe.

Visited the Squid Ink for lunch with family only yesturday. Looe was very busy and we wanted to enjoy the sunshine whilst eating lunch, the Squid Ink was perfect, located on a quite side street with seating outside, away from the hustle and bustle. We ordered crab sandwiches which were delicious, fresh and very reasonably priced, the service was excellent the waitress was very attentive. We look forward to visiting again next time for dinner.

Thank you for taking the time to post such a kind review of your lunch at our restaurant. Being just off the main high street in Looe we are still at the heart of this lovely coastal fishing port but provide a peaceful setting for a relaxed meal. The crab sandwiches you enjoyed are prepared with local Looe Bay crab meat which is landed daily by our fabulous fishermen. We are very lucky to have such wonderful shell fish on our doorstep and together with the fresh fish and the meat and poultry that are provided by our local farmers , Warren is able to produce some fantastic dishes.
We look forward to seeing you again for dinner and thank you again for your very positive feedback.

Kind regards

Ive been to this restaurant on a number of occasions but this was the first time under this name. I was delighted with the food and service. Not a big place (which suits me just fine) and we were all given the personal attention and care that you dont see too often, a delicious menu to choose from, one that I will look forward to re-visiting.

The week after Easter holidays (first visit to Looe since 1961 aged 14) this time we stayed 3 nights in excellent St Georges Apartment with stunning views up the river and out to sea. First day, sunny walk to Polperro, and back by boat. Second day rainy and old bones aching. Needed PC and Fax to sort out some unexpected crisis; Tourist centre especially helpful. Revived with a delicious and very entertaining lunch in Larsson’s Coffee House. Late afternoon soak in hot bath.

We finished off the day with an excellent meal at Squid Ink. The restaurant is run by the owners and this reflects in everything; a commitment to friendly but professional service, a passion for serving great food, and a detailed attention to everything else. The room itself is fashionably designed with some very large timber candle sticks, which might not immediately sound appealing, but it all works We like to eat very early and so we arrived in an empty room; Catherine, the co-owner welcomed us and, judging correctly, entertained us until the first course arrived chatting about Looe, the restaurant, and our choice of food and wine Many modern restaurants seem to be very noisy, mainly because of the room design; and there’s a viscous circle of diners talking loader and louder; this is certainly not a problem here and was refreshingly peaceful, even when all the tables were full. They have 28 covers, again they have judged this so that they can deliver the highest standard in service in the restaurant and the kitchen. We had an outstanding soup for first course. I had dressed crab for my main and my wife a chicken dish. The whole meal and the wine were delicious. 300 miles from Kent but I think we will be back in Looe soon, not least because of this wonderful restaurant.

It certainly sounds like you enjoyed your holiday in Looe, we are very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the UK and the coastal path to Polperro is certainly a stunning walk not to be missed.
We hope to see you again on your next visit to Cornwall
