Pendra Loweth is great as we can take the dog. The complex would be improved if it had a proper swimming pool (the splash pool is jacuzzi sized) and views - can't really do anything about that. To be honest if we didn't have the dog we would stay at Maenporth Estate, the quality is higher. Our boys enjoyed the tennis courts and we enjoyed the location as its near to areas we visit. Be warned no dog friendly beaches nearby. The only one is at the gardens of Trebah. You pay £8.50 entrance however it's then free entry for a week and it is beautiful.
The cottage was OK however we stayed a couple of doors down last year at Herons Reach and that was much nicer - larger and decorated to a higher standard. There was a distinct lack of kitchen equipment a 103, this was noted by others in the visitors book. This meant planning meals carefully. Some of the furniture and pictures etc were tired and needed replacing. The double bed in my room squeaked and creaked terribly and there was just me in it! I couldn't turn over without everyone knowing. When you are paying nearly £1000 for the week it really isn't good enough. Yes we'll return to Pendra so long as we have the dog (he is 15) however we won't choose 103 Waterside.

We stayed for a week in number 2. Cannot fault it, spotless, quiet in the evening, about a mile to falmouths best beaches. We mis-booked part of our holiday, which left us needing an extra night and this was accommodated.
Ours had both wifi and a washing machine, but this varies from cottage to cottage.
Surprisingly absolutely no noise through the walls from next door.
We used the gym, smallish but fine and most of the time hadit to ourselves. Plunge pool is just that.
Tesco found us no problems.
All round very good.

We stayed in number 1Chy-Nans a privately owned cottage for a week in July and I couldn't fault the place. The cleanliness of the cottage was of a very high standard and was fully equipped with everything you need and more. It is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Set in the grounds of a self catering village it has great services and facilities around, including a small children's play park, cafe, pool, tennis courts etc. Would highly recommend this beautiful and quite part of Cornwall for a relaxing break away.

We stayed in the cottage called 'Tremaen' for a week in July 2013, as a party of two couples and one child, and absolutely loved it.

It is clearly very well maintained and looked after as everything felt brand new. It's in a really good location on the complex as it's lovely and quiet and the garden backs onto open grass, which our two year old loved playing on. It really is the sort of place you would feel happy leaving your door unlocked.

It's very spacious and there is plenty of storage space. Everything has been thought of, even things you wouldn't expect (e.g. ironing board, Hoover, clothes horse and pegs, BBQ with charcoal and firelighters, complimentary tea, coffee and sugar).

The facilities on site are good; laundrette (£4 per wash), bar and restaurant with lovely outdoor terrace, gym, plunge pool (which was bigger than we expected), sauna, small shop, kids playground.

The only very slight negative was the lack of wifi at the cottage. None of us had any phone signal either so we felt a little cut off (no bad thing in small doses sometimes!). There is wifi in the bar area if needed but it would definitely be a bonus to have it in the cottage too.

Overall though we had a wonderful time and a big part of that was the standard of accommodation. Though having so many beautiful beaches nearby was an added bonus too!

Having experienced the Pendra Loweth factor last year, we booked again and this year we were allocated the property called Tanglewood which was about 6 properties further up the side of the stream from Herons Reach where we stayed last year.

It still overlooks the stream so the sound of the running water is still enjoyable as we sat on the decking.

We were informed that it was the first year that Tanglewood had been put into the system for rental.

The property was as good as Herons Reach and yet again we were presented with the welcome pack on arrival with the selection of drinks, milk and biscuits which was as well received as last year.

Pendra Loweth is so quiet and peaceful and is well worth the drive from our part of the world up in Sheffield.

Whilst we were there, we tried one of the local pubs called the Trelowarren Arms at Budock Water which is about a 5 min drive away and we used a local taxi company there and back.

You can actually walk to the Trelowarren Arms across country utilising the local public footpaths and does nice food with a lovely Sunday lunch.

We stayed in Riverstones, a 3 bedroom cottage, with one bathroom, and open plan living downstairs, kitchen, dining area and lounge, opening out onto the patio area and garden at the front of the property. Nicely decorated. We really enjoyed our stay here, peaceful setting, a perfect base for our first trip to Cornwall, for a family wedding. One bathroom wasn't a problem, but would be better if there was an en suite too, for 6 adults. We had a BBQ outside one evening, borrowed the BBQ from one of the other 2 cottages the rest of our family stayed in. We would definitely stay here again. We did 4 nights, very good value, worked out about £20 per person per night.

Just spent a wonderful 8 days at this superb location in beautiful surroundings with relative peace and quiet for this time of year.

We stayed in one of the three bedroom cottages and although a bit on the small side for 5 people to stay the cottage was well laid out and beautifully presented. Next time we would opt for one of the three bedroomed cottages with en suite bathroom

Room Tip: Choose cottage with en suite bathroom
