I stayed here is September when I took my son back to University. I wish I had found this place sooner.

The owners are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The bedrooms are immaculate and if I had one complaint, and only one, it is that the shower was just a tiny trickle of water. I found this frustrating as I only use the shower and not the bath.

The big plus about this hotel is the parking at the back, which is ideal if you are taking a car.

If you don’t want to sit in your bedroom they have a lovely sitting room and a small bar at the back of the hotel.

The breakfasts are to die for and my husband keeps going on about how perfectly the bacon was cooked and why can’t I do it like that. So no doubt we will be going back in the future.

we have just had a lovely stay at Dolvean, I did alot of searching for just the right place, my husband wanted to stop in a hotel but i persuaded him to go along with the b&b idea, we couldnt have asked for a better place, the service we received from Renate and Shaun was excellent, The breakfasts were lovely, the room was beautiful, the whole house is well maintained and very welcoming from the minute we got there to the time that we left. well done to you both.

3 of us stayed in Feb 2008 as part of a motorcycle tour. Great location and biker friendly so my son and I decided to stay again in Feb 2009. Although the B&B has changed hands the new owners are every bit as friendly as the old ones. The rooms are spotlessly clean and offer great value for money. The owners are really helpful but at the same time give you as much space as you want. This is great value for money and I would definately recommend.

The Dolvean Hotel lived up to our hopes for a luxury B&B. The new owners who took over in March 2008 offer a great welcome - nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are excellent and are added to with lots of thoughtful touches and great towels and toiletries. There is comprehensive information about local restaurants which we found helpful as well as places to visit - and one of the best breakfasts that we had in a 6 day visit to Cornwall.
The Dolvean is within 5 minues walking distance of the beach (and the SW coast path route - walkers and cyclists also receive a warm welcome) and offers easy access to other beaches if this is what you are looking for as well as Falmouth itself, the ferry across to St Mawes and routes / places to the Lizard. For those into public transport, Falmouth Town station is no more than 7 minutes walking distance. As it happens we were walking the SW coast path but would certainly recommend the Dolvean for anyone who wanted a few days (or a longer visit) to this part of Cornwall.
