A light and airy entrance area leads you into a charming and well stocked garden which really needs to be viewed on several levels to be full apprieciated.

You enter the garden at the top and are level with some of the tree tops and then you can chose which path to take, either around the top giving you great views over the whole garden or down to the bottom and along a series of water features.

My favourite section was the Water Garden which cascaded down, surrounded by all sorts of beautiful plants - the only problem was that there was a lot of other people also enjoying this section wihch got in the way of the views a bit - you just have to be a bit patient.

at the end of the garden is a pebbly beach with incredibly clear water

they also make a big feature of welcoming dogs and our dog certainly enjoyed the garden and sniffing around in the undergrowth

they also have an excellent cafe with a dog area if it is cold or wet outside. the food was freshly prepared and cooked and good value. we popped in here just for lunch one day

A lovely garden with the added historical interest of the beach where US troops assembled during WW2. The garden is on several levels, well organized and interesting. There's a very pleasant gift shop and (I think) a cafe.

Spectacular! Beautiful gardens on the side of a hill with plants from all over the world. As you proceed downwards the garden finally ends at the beach. One of the best Gardens I have seen. Even the road leading to the Gardens is exceptionally beautiful

I wish I could have rated Trebah as excellent as the wonderful gardens with the beautiful trees and plants certainly deserve it and definitely merit a visit. However, there are definitely improvements to be made in certain areas. The signage on the roads was almost non existent and it would have been very helpful to have had one on the Treliever Cross roundabout where the A394 joins the A39. The road was narrow and it would have been reassuring to know that one was going in the right direction. There was a lack of waste bins in the gardens and more seating would have been a welcome addition. Surely it would not be a problem to have installed more bins and seats to blend in with the surroundings. No indication of the levels of difficulty of the various walks - it was obvious that many elderly visitors found it hard going -again a reason to install more seating. The counter staff in the cafe were totally unhelpful. There were very few sandwiches left and a member of our party requested egg sandwiches only to be given 3 buns each containing a fried egg which was not what she had asked for. I believe the smell nearly knocked her out. My daughter requested decaffeinated tea for me but was told it was not available. I then went to the counter and said I'd hoped for some decaff tea and was told that they would go and have a look. Came back later to say they did stock it but didn't know where it was kept. Finally, and as a previous reviewer has stated, there were no toilets on the beach at the cafe. If one had been needed it was a long hard trek back up to the main building. The gift and plant shops were very good.

One of the best things about this garden is they welcome dogs on leads - (unlike the National Trust!!) Also your ticket is valid for re entry for up to 5 days after your visit. There are some spectacular views, and on a sunny day a beach to sit and enjoy. My fave spot was the watergarden with steps down along the pools and waterways, surrounded by palms.
