“Great stay”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

The hotel was very clean and the staff were fantastic. Paul was such a laugh who tried to take the mickey at breakfast every morning. All in all, the hotel is situated in a great position and close to the town and sea front. It is comfortable and clean and the breakfasts are superb. If I was going to Falmouth again I would not hesitate in booking into the Park View.

Room Tip: Park View rooms at the front are the best

Although I had messed up and reserved for the wrong day, subject to some British Humour, we were able to ascertain that there was a choice of rooms for the night prior to the one reserved. We opted to upgrading our room to a VERY large room on the main floor (no hauling heavy suitcases up a couple of flights of stairs). I should note there is a large car park in the rear of the property. The room was spacious, huge king bed that was VERY comfortable...wonderful pillows...a roomy bathroom (no counter space) and a nice bay window with round table that worked wonderfully to house my laptop. That was the only downside.... i guess because of the thickness of the walls, the complimentary wifi signal was very weak or non-existent. Sounds like they are trying their best to rectify the situation... hope so!

The bed was very comfortable but after that it was down hill all the way. The bath towels were little more than hand towels and certainly not fluffy as another reviwer has stated. The decor poor (woodchip lined ceiling and Artex walls). The drawer to a bedside cupboard fell to bits, the shaver light didn't work, the complimentary shower gel/shampoo enough for 1 but we were 2 and wasn't replenished for 2nd night. Complimentary spring water was nice but didn't get replenished for 2nd night. So to the breakfast. Poached egg watery, toast dry and thin, plastic packaged jams/marmalades, tinned grapefruit - all low grade. However the dish water coffee was the killer. These days with Costa, Starbucks, etc. one expects a decent cup of coffee; it's not that difficult.
So for £110 per night for 2 one can do a lot better.

booked 5 nights here and when arrived the doors where locked but it was 19:40 pm as we travelled by coach but they opened up the staff was friendly and showed us to the room which was fairly modern with an en suit with a shower. the double bed was very comfortable but at night times it was quite noisy as kept hearing loud bangs at specific times. the breakfast was varied including full english cereal fruit croissants etc. the hotel was literally a 2 min walk from the town and docks the beach was around half an hour walks away but the scenery was beautiful. Will stay again staff were friendly and the room was a very good size! and we had a room with the view of the park opposite the road which was nice.

We booked 4 rooms here for 3 nights and we had a great stay. Paul was very accomodating and quite the character. The rooms were small (although there are larger ones) but clean and comfortable and the guesthouse is in a great location for a short stroll down the hill to the town. Good variety of breakfast and friendly staff. Overall good value for money and I would recommend it for a lovely stay in beautiful Cornwall and Falmouth.

Room Tip: Number 2 at the top of the house was small but very cosey.

Stayed at The Park View Townhouse and was very nicely surprised. Not quiet a hotel but much more than a bed and breakfast. From my telephone call to book to my checking out 2 days later staff were very nice indeed. I had a lovely room on the top floor, not massive, but large enough with a great view over the park oposite. Like previously mentioned, breakfast was plentiful with a great selection. Top marks from me and I am looking forward to my next visit here.
