During a short break in Falmouth one night we decided to look for somewhere to go for dinner other than our hotel and so we prowled the main street and the water front early in the evening looking for somewhere suitable. Down a little side alley we spotted The Warehouse Bistro and had a quick glance inside. It looked warm and inviting and so, without pre-booking, we asked for a table for two. No problem. Soon we were seated and the menu and wine list were produced.
We chose a fairly simple meal with starters of Pate for me and Prawns in Garlic for my wife, main courses were Steak with Garlic Butter and Red Snapper, they were accompanied by a suitable selection of vegetables, and for dessert we had Eton Mess. All in all the meal was very good with ample sized portions, well cooked and presented and washed down with a reasonable bottle of red wine.
The service was very good with no delays in bringing the courses, the staff were quite prepared to cater for us having a short respite before the dessert was served and as soon as we indicated we were ready to indulge in the desserts they arrived promptly.
Everyone was very polite and pleasant and as the evening went on more and more diners arrived showing that even though it was off season the place had a good reputation as quite a number seemed to be from the local area.
Certainly in October it was a great place to have a nice evening meal.
