Stayed over a wet and windy weekend in Feb having found a room and food deal. The place is pleasantly old school; we were in a huge room with a lovely four poster.

Staff were helpful and welcoming and pointed us to some nice local walks. Good with advice on the local area, and where to go or avoid because of the storms.

I don't normally eat in hotel restaurants but we did here and it was fantastic. Beautifully cooked fish especially and the portions were so generous we could barely move.

Most importantly, they make a mean bloody Mary.

I had a one night stay here Jan and got a great deal for the room £30 for a double. Room was a lovely surprise as I had been a little worried about the bad reviews. It was large, clean, very comfy bed, super quiet and easy to find. The ensuite was spotless and looked very new, the shower was great.

There are two lanes that go to the hotel and I came in from the Truro side and it was absolutely fine, for Cornwall I wouldn't even call it a lane. If you come through the other lane then it is pretty much a single track road so may be a problem if you are not used to/don't like lanes.

The staff were great from reception to breakfast in the morning, very cheerful and genuinely nice and helpful.

Breakfast was lovely, great choice, unfortunately I could not do it justice as I don't tend to eat much first thing but the porridge was really great. Choices are good, full english (which looked very nice and not the typical greasy one you can get in hotels), porridge, toast, eggs any way.

All in all a brilliant stay and will definitely come again.

This is a charming hotel where the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The room style is country rather than contemporary but a delightful change from the standard hotel rooms you get these days.

Fabulous views down to the sea in the distance.

Great service, lovely food and excellent value for money. I'm looking forward to going again.

We had our company's Christmas party here and I cannot find fault with anything! The food was exceptional and tasted home cooked, which is difficult to do when catering for so many. Neil, the manager, is so perceptive that the whole evening came together perfectly. The DJ was fab! He catered for all ages and tastes and wasn't ashamed to dig out the good old standard Xmas-staff-do-cheesy-disco tunes!!! Nothing was too much trouble for Neil and his team, even though I'm sure things got a bit rowdy in the early hours of the morning!!!! The rooms are very comfortable, clean and have everything you need for an enjoyable stay (we even had an after party bottle of red waiting for us....as I said, Neil is very perceptive.)
You can't help but feel relaxed and at ease. I highly recommend Penmorvah to anyone looking for a place to stay in Falmouth. Be warned though, you won't want to leave :0)

A group of us stayed and enjoyed a christmas party here at the Penmorvah. A warm welcome and help to find the room was gratefully received on arrival, particularly after negotiating that road. Yes it is a bit windy bendy, but there are plenty of passing places. The management had kindly placed a third bed in a room so three of us could share. (and remembered to place the extra cups, towels etc.) so the room was warm, clean and well decorated in a contemporary style, the bathroom the same, with shower gel and shampoo to use. I have been criticised for making comments before (especially about 3 star properties) but I must say the larger of the two towels were a bit on the small side and I am on the short side! A big plus though must be given to the hot water which was great and still available at gone midnight when I wanted a bath. (Sorry the pillows could do with an upgrade)

This was a christmas meal so can only comment on this and it was fair to middling, I have had worse and better elsewhere. Plenty on the quantity though, which for some was important. The really poor part of the whole stay was the so called DJ! I appreciate that he has to cater for caring age groups but he certainly excelled at keeping the dance floor empty. Shame really, only warmed up in the last hour and by then a lot had left altogether. Breakfast was good and plentiful.

Overall a good stay, very welcoming staff with a can do attitude. Lots of potential here for aspiration to more lovely stars on their rating.

Very impressed! The hotel and grounds were very nice, very grand and well looked after. The staff who work there made our stay very enjoyable. Will recommend highly and will be defiantly be going back. We only had the breakfast but it was to a high standard and there was plenty, again the service was very friendly.
The room we stayed in was a double and was very homely. Plenty of room for our bags and clothes. Bed was very comfy!
Thanks!
