Judi the host was very helpful. Our family of four stayed in one of the 6 bunk dorm rooms the first night and though the beds were comfortable, slept poorly because one of the other guests in our room had a very loud, constant snore! The next day, she moved him to another room. I think he appreciated the privacy and we got a great night's sleep!

The Falmouth Lodge Backpackers is a Hostel situated in a suburban coastal street and had received good reviews online before we travelled, and I can say that after four nights that reputation is well deserved.

Our first priority was to save money over B&Bs which we found to be too expensive on our budget in this region. We checked in and was met by the owner Judy who showed us around, let us know the basic (common sense) house rules and then left us to relax. By its very nature a hostel requires you to mix with an eclectic variety of people, but you can find your personal space very quickly. The group staying in the same seven bed room (three comfy bunk beds plus camp bed), and the guests in the other rooms were all very nice and we even organised a barbecue on the second night in which we all contributed food or drink and all sat outside in the front garden eating and chatting.

There is a nice lounge area where you can eat and, er, lounge as well as internet and a TV and dvd player, and lots of games too.. Judy was a relaxed presence throughout ( advice where to go, walks...) and guided us when needed and by the end of the stay we were sad to leave.
BUT WE WILL BE BACK AS SOON WE WILL VISIT CORNWALL!!!!!

Thank you so much Judi for your hospitality, you are the best, and your hostel is a little gem .

The Falmouth Backpackers Lodge is one of the best accomodations I've ever visited. It is very cosy, you almost feel as if you are sitting in your own living room, because you can see and feel that this is a place where people are, not just a cold unfriendly surrounding. The owner is incredibly friendly, even late in the evening. She really infects you with her good mood. The accomodation is very close to the beautiful beach, the town is in easy walking distance and (free and good) WiFi will make your stay more than comfortable.
All in all, it really is a home away from home and I would love to come back.
Lovely greetings, Mia.

A very welcome stay, reasonable price and cosy atmosphere. Lots of books to read! And highlight of which was the owner letting me watch the Formula 1 race on her widescreen surround telly. Would have killed me to miss it! Next time I visit Cornwall I would like to pass through Falmouth again and will stay here if I do.

I stayed at Falmouth Lodge Backpackers, having travelled down to see a band play at the near-by Princess Pavilion in Falmouth. Falmouth Lodge owner Judy was a delightful, relaxed host at the hostel and the Lodge was, generally, a great, affordable place to stay. A show at the Pavilion worked brilliantly well alongside a stay at Falmouth Lodge – with a walk along the adjacent beach before and after the concert. Very much recommended.

On our coach tour we spent two night in this hostel and it was a really nice experience.
First of all, the hostel is decorated in detail, giving it a nice and cosy atmosphere. I shared a 4-room dorm with two other girls of my tour and on the first night we were told that we should be upgraded without costs to an en-suite room for the next night, because a 4-people-group was supposed to come - nice surprise :) Even though the breakfast only consisted of toast, jam, tea or coffee - it was enough to have a good start in the day! The lacking opportunity to lock your room, is the only thing that needs to be improved.

Came down for one night last week during my daughter's Uni. audition. We think it's a great place. Ideally situated for the town and the Uni's are a few minutes drive away. We had a comfortable night and were made very welcome. Will certainly visit again.
