Lovely location - right by beach and walking distance to shops etc. in Falmouth. Basic room but nice and clean. Had eco shower in en-suite which had no power. Might not bother some but washing hair was a nightmare for me! Good service - would stay again but maybe in a different room as no other similar comments for the double rooms. Thanks for nice stay!

Just returned from an all too short four night stay.
Amazed to find that this B&B is just as advertised on the web site happily even the weather!
Jenny and Steve give a warm welcome to guests and remain attentive, nothing is too much trouble and unexpected extras are freely offered.
Am planning to return next year even though I have another week left in my native West Country before returning to my adopted home in the Netherlands.
Location is fantastic almost on the beach and just a short walk to the attractions of Falmouth Town. Eating good fish and chips washed down by real ale whilst enjoying harbour views is my idea of heaven!

I can only agree with the positive comments already left for the San Remo B & B, as they are all much deserved. The owners were most welcoming and I felt I could approach them with any query I had without feeling I was bothering them as they genuinely want you to enjoy your stay.
Our room, and in particular the bathroom, was spotless and the extra touches at no cost made such a difference, not always provided by other similar establishments, like fresh milk in a flask on request to make your hot drinks in your room. Soaps and hand cream in the bathroom, as well as a small clothes maiden for wet beach things for in the bath. Anything you need, ask, and they'll do their best to help.
For example, of the thoughtfullness of the owner, when we returned one evening, to find home baked muffins left for us in our room was a very nice gesture.
Breakfast was hot and tasty, freshly cooked, and eggs 'as you like them', every day my poached egg was perfection! and there seems to be a toast issue on some comments here? - we could have all the toast we could eat if we wanted it.
We pre-booked/requested to take our dog, as they welcome well behaved dogs (they have 2 of their own that are kept in their private accommodation side of this large house). We found they had left a wipe clean mat for our dog's dishes on the floor in the room, and we found a brilliant dog park/field, easy walking distance from the hotel, along the beach and up a well maintained, safe, coast path with fantastic views, it leads to big hedged areas where you can exercise your dog and meet the local people doing the same. Our dog made about 46 new friends.
The rule at the hotel is that your dog is not left in the room unaccompanied at any time, which I think is perfectly acceptable, we wouldn't want our dog to be distressed in a strange place and possibly start barking that might disturb guests, so absolutely acceptable to put your dog in your car for a short time whilst you enjoy breakfast. This worked well for us as we got up early and exercised our dog, then walked back, watered and fed her, put her in the car with the windows open enough for ventilation and we could then enjoy breakfast in the dining room knowing the dog was safe and not bothering anyone., then bring her back in the room when we had finished. No problem. Pre booked dogs are also allowed to join their owners in the guest living room, to sit with you and watch TV or a DVD if you wish - to be honest there was too much to go and do than sit in, but the facility was there if you wanted it.
The hotel is very well placed, in a quiet, upmarket residential/and hotel area, by one of the best beaches around, easy distance to town too if you wish, having a car always helps, remember Falmouth is hilly. You can watch all kinds of things going on at this lovely beach, from early morning Yoga enthusiasts, to SUP boarders and beach volleyball players, yet the beach is not 'packed', it has a kind of bohemian atmosphere, and not having bars in the vacinity, tends to filter the beach user groups. Great for families. A shame dogs are not allowed on the beach during summer months, but are allowed later in the year, a bit odd.
Highly recommend you spend time at Gylly Beach Cafe over the road, 'Cafe' doesn't do it justice, contemporary design and great food in the restaurant, it's in an amazing spot on the beach, live music, fantastic views, and great staff, memorable evening spent there - and dog friendly too outside on the terrace.
We won't hesitate to book again at San Remo, in fact I KNOW we will stay there again in the future.

We are a couple with a small baby and we stayed here mid June 2013. The hosts were very helpful providing a travel cot and high chair for breakfast and we were accommodated in a family room on the 1st floor which was clean and tidy. The bathroom appeared updated and suited our needs.

The B&B overall is a good standard and the cooked breakfast is very good. The lounge area has games, DVDS, books and newspapers which was a nice touch.

This was our first visit to Falmouth and staying here was a good choice. We were very well looked after and the B&B is good value for money.

We stayed at San Remo for four nights and it was very nice. They didn't have a double bedroom left, so they made a family room available for us at the price of a double. Jenny and Steve were great hosts and very helpful. The room was nice, the bathroom was recently refurbished (only the shower head was loose unfortunately) and the view over to the beach was great. Across the street is the nice beach Gyllyngvase with the really nice café Gylly where we spent most nights with relaxing music, cool drinks and nice food. It only takes 10 min walk into town and 5 min walk to the train station.

Having just returned from a week in Falmouth I can endorse all of the positive reviews of the San Remo. It is a true home from home. Jenny and Steve know how to make you feel at home. Nothing is too much trouble and the fact that they know everyone by name is a special touch. You really feel that you are part of an extended family rather than a guest. The online booking facility makes it easy to choose and book your room.

The guest house feels like a home with plenty of space to relax. It's spotless and breakfast is a highlight as it is nicely cooked and will keep you going for the day. For the bucket and spade brigade the location could not be better as it is minutes from the town's main beach. When going into town there is the choice of going down Avenue Road or Foxes Lane. The latter is slightly quicker but is a bit steep - so not for those who do not like a lot of walking. But the hotel is 10 - 15 minutes from town either way. I would definitely choose the San Remo again if heading down to Falmouth again.

Room Tip: Room 7 has a nice view of the beach. Use the online booking facility on the web site

I booked the San Remo Guest House, all of the rooms, for the Easter weekend before my wedding. I wanted to have my grooms-men and their partners together, close and within easy reach of the pubs, restaurants and Pendennis castle (our wedding venue).
The car park at the San Remo is large enough for several big cars and we had a Mercedes, a Jaguar, a Mondeo, a Focus, a Fiesta and a vectra that all fitted with enough room to manoeuvre. The entrance is very steep and for low profile cars it is best approached from down the hill, turning left, and exited up the hill, turning right.
The location was ideal for us and provides easy walks into the town centre, onto the beach and up to Pendennis Castle.
The rooms are all well presented and very clean and tidy. The view from some is fantastic and all rooms provide tea and coffee making equipment, a hair dryer, bathroom condiments and plenty of towels.
Steve and Jenny are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and they dealt with my stress and the chaos of my preparing for the wedding with lots of patients and kindness.
The breakfast is great with a good variety of cereal and fruit and the Flap-jacks were fantastic. The cooked breakfast options allow Jenny and Steve to cater for a wide selection of tastes and allergies and it's all included in the price. As written in an earlier review toast is served as one slice cut in half. It is served in a toast rack with various accompaniments and with the teapot, cups and crockery on the table this seems appropriate. More toast is offered and we all thoroughly enjoyed a filling start to each day.
I would highly recommend the San Remo B n B to anyone looking for a great base to explore Falmouth and Cornwall.
