Fantastic place to stay. Very close to all the lovely things that Chester has to offer - the shops, the restaurants, the park and the walls. The place is exceptionally clean and tidy with everything you could require for a short or an extended stay. The icing on the cake however was the host whose attention to detail, friendly and open communication and thoughtful touches really made this a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend to anyone consider a trip to Chester!

“Fantastic”
Reviewed July 4, 2018 for a stay in June 2018

We stayed in the cottage for the races great location lovely home and absolutely spotless- with lovely extra touches of sweets and bottle of fizz. Stairs are a little dodgy as our friend had a recent hip replacement n the toilet was downstairs - but we managed
Rod was great at responding to emails
Would love to stay next year but need to wait until the racing dates are announced because Holiday Lettings take 50% none refundable deposit!! I just hope it’s free when the dates come out

Thanks for your kind review Deborah.

Sorry the steps were a little steep for your friend, but that's how houses were made in the 19th century (That's why I've added hand rails both sides).

I'm not aware that Holiday Lettings take 50% deposit? I've had guest need to cancel before and they've received a 100% refund.

I look forward to welcoming you again next year.

“Fantastic - will be staying again”
Reviewed June 17, 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Absolutely fantastic cottage, very comfortable and so cosy making you feel like you're at home! Full of everything you could possibly need, all while being in such a fantastic location! As soon as we got in we felt right at home and I even mentioned how much I'd love to live there! We had our dogs with us so having the green out the back that is accessible from the back of the cottage is a real advantage, making life very easy! Rod is very friendly and very helpful and approachable which made us feel so at ease and makes the stay that much more relaxing!

Thank you Rod for such a fantastic little cottage that we shall definitely be coming back to stay in again!

“Exceptional location”
Reviewed May 25, 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Stayed in the cottage for a week in May. The location is amazing. Short walk to shops, shorter walk to the river. Pubs on your door step as well as loads of restaurants. Lovely cottage. All the bits and pieces you could need. Excellent, and helpful host. Parking also a short walk. Highly recommend.

Rod's cottage is exactly as advertised
In a quiet little courtyard hidden away from the city and yet in the centre of everything one needs.
We truly had the perfect weekend stay in Gamul Place.
His attention to detail is second to none.
Thought of everything, milk in the fridge, fruit basket on the table, tea coffee sugar & toiletries to hand for our arrival. Crisp white sheets on the beds fluffy towels in the bathroom. Heat set on timer & hot water to hand at all times. We did not need to make contact with Rod during our stay because he had every question covered prior to arrival or left on notice board in the kitchen. What more can I say only that I would highly recommend his place to all and hopefully stay there again myself sometime.

“Great weekend break”
Reviewed May 1, 2018 for a stay in April 2018

It was a great little cottage in the heart of Chester within a 5 minute walking distance to the river, and the centre with all it's attractions. Nice cosy cottage although in the centre, is tucked away nicely in a quiet place. Loved the little touches left for us with the Prosecco in the fridge and the tub of sweets for the kids. A very comfy stay with everything thought of, a home from home, and Rod always on hand if needs be with plentiful information to make the visit a good one. Thanks Craig

“Amazing”
Reviewed April 25, 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Rod is an amazing host. He starts with the most beautiful cottage: right in the middle of Chester; moments from the gorgeous city and lovely river, yet in a secluded, pretty courtyard of cottages tucked behind ancient buildings. He then adds a layer of up to date amenities: curved Samsung TV; beautifully fitted kitchen; crisp white linen; sofas you could drown in; a courtyard for us smokers. That's not enough for Rod, though. The next layer is pure thoughtfulness: a bottle of fizz and milk in the fridge; a towering bowl of fruit; useful hints and tips. Finally he gives you himself: he calls to check you're ok; nothing is too much trouble; no little glitch or daft question unanswered with speed and charm. Go there.
