Really good lunch time menu sticky walnuts with goat cheese and beets and ceviche tasted great main courses equally so truffle chips to die for...and same for desert. So food good to excellent would like to see more salad and vegetable choices on both lunch and dinner menus. Wine was good and reasonable. Service terrific. Ambience good Airconditioning was crappy , seems like a reluctance to spend money on keep the place cool which is a shame charge an extra 50p and keep it on please. Recommended

Any provincial restaurant that is full on a Monday night in October has built a reputation for excellent food, a wide choice of wine and good service. The only blip is that there was a slight smell of food upstairs. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Sticky Walnut - remember to book in advance regardless of when you want to visit.

Recently enjoyed a lunchtime meal at the Sticky Walnut with friends.
Friendly service and a knowledge waiter.
Warm ambience.
The lunchtime menu was excellent – tasty starters (oven roast beets and sticky walnuts /chicken liver pate/sea bream ceviche) and very good main courses (shin of beef and lamb ragu tagliatelle), followed by a delicious
Pecan treacle tart.
A small but good wine selection – an excellent value meal.
Would definitely go again.

Came here last Friday with my fiancée. Had the oysters to start (huge) and chateaubriand for the main. The food was fantastic and the waitress very knowledgeable about the menu when asked about the ingredients of the dishes (My fiancée is fussy!). The only slight negative being that it is located some way out from the centre of town from where we were staying. We will definetly be making a return visit next time we are in Chester

Came here for my Birthday on the recommendation of friends and I was not disappointed, the belly pork was the best I've ever had and I can tell this restaurant is going to be around for a long time!

You could see this as a little pricey but once you eat here you won't, it's totally worth it for the food and atmosphere.
