Lovely chilled atmosphere but more importantly absolutely amazing food!! No need to put your fancy frocks on for the usual chester serving of overpriced pretentious rubbish - this place serves top class food at realistic prices! Hopefully our next visit isn't too far away!

“Delicious!”
Reviewed August 13, 2014

As we were on a coach day trip to Chester, we booked this restaurant for lunch as it has good ratings and was very handy placed for the start of the Roman walk we were doing in the afternoon. We chose the £18 3-course meal, which we had with a carafe of iced water (free) as it was quite a warm day. There were two vegetarian choices on the menu for starter and dessert, but only one (a delicious chick pea curry with an interesting use of popcorn) main meal. Please see photos. The food was beautifully presented - a work of art - and very tasty it was too. The service was excellent and could not be faulted. We had plenty to eat and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Will definitely be back next time we are in Chester.

“Foodie Heaven”
Reviewed August 9, 2014

If you like good food, new and well balanced flavours in both food and drink this is the place for you. How amazing can tomatoes be - well visit here and you will find out, I think the menu changes daily so there is no point in discussing every dish. I would say if you are looking for a hearty plate of burger and chips this probably is not the right place for you although the triple cooked chips are amazing! If you are looking for well balanced and lovely tasting food with drinks to accompany then this is the place for you. Really lovely with attentive and knowledgable staff - we will be back soon.

“Almost perfect.”
Reviewed August 9, 2014 via mobile

Almost everything was spot on. The food was great - duck rillettes, followed by pork belly and chocolate fondant, for me; scallops, cornfed chicken and fondant for my wife - the service knowledgeable and attentive, and the champagne was good and reasonably priced. Nice local artwork around and lively music made it a lovely overall experience on top of the quality of the food.

The only downsides were that as the restaurant got to capacity the service got a bit slower, although no less attentive and as it's a small, glass-fronted room it got very loud and hearing each other above the noise was a challenge. That's being picky though, we had a brilliant night at a buzzy city centre restaurant and didn't come home poor.

“TRULY SCRUMPTIOUS”
Reviewed August 8, 2014 via mobile

Had seen the menus on Facebook and intrigued by the unusual choices decided to have a day in Chester and booked a table.

Very friendly welcome followed by an excellent meal starting with the Crackling to go with drinks.Wonderful.

Guinea Fowl for starter and Rabbit for mains would not normally be my choice but they were both fantastic.

My wife had the scallops followed by the mackerel and she said they were "Truly scrumptious".

The shared Cherry dessert was excellent.

The staff were very helpful and we had a wonderful evening. Will definitely be returning soon.
