Choose the Crowne Plaza for a two night visit to Chester as it was central and had car park access. Made very welcome despite arriving early and our room was ready. Staff cheerful and helpful. Room clean and tidy, we upgraded to an executive room as third floor quieter and has access to Club room.

Plenty choice for breakfast and again staff cheerful and helpful.

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Chester for the night with friends even though we all live relatively close. We wanted to spend an evening in Chester. The hotel was a really good choice. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy and the bathrooms were of a very good standard. we had rooms 222 and 229. The hotel staff couldn't do enough for us. They were polite and recommended a lovely restaurant for the evening meal.
From the hotel it was only a short walk into Chester city centre.
Breakfast was buffet style and the staff again were more than helpful. Extra choices at breakfast were available.
We would certainly use this hotel again, next time we would like to try out the spa facilities.

We don't live that far from Chester and have visited a few times before mostly for shopping. As we were planning a few days away we decided to stay overnight to enjoy the city in the evening.
The Crowne Plaza proved to be an excellent choice. The location is a very short walk from the city centre (it's right around the corner), parking was very convenient on site, however there is a large car park across the road if the hotel is full.
I'm a platinum member with IHG and we were made very welcome with a room upgrade on arrival, the check in was very smooth and the reception staff were very helpful with ideas to fill our time in the city. The room was comfortable with a huge bed and all the amenities you expect from this standard of hotel.
We didn't dine at the hotel on this occasion but the food we saw being served looked delicious, the following mornings breakfast was excellent the buffet was extensive and it is possible to order a la carte items in addition to this.
Checking out was also a very pleasant experience, the staff, as with all the others were polite without being fussy which led to a very relaxed atmosphere.
We will certainly visit Chester again and use this hotel. Another thing to note is that it is also only a short walk to the racecourse ( which we overlooked from our room), so maybe you could stay there for free .......if your horse comes in!

Room Tip: Higher floors have good views of Wales, pick a room looking out towards the racecourse.

Only had time to stay for a few nights in this hotel.
The hotel rooms are a bit dated and in my opinion a bit over priced but the hotel staff can't do enough for you and the hotels location is literally a two min walk and your in the heart of Chester
With that said I will defiantly use again the next time I visit Chester.

Lack of any ambience or welcome at either street or car park entrances gives this hotel a hollow feeling although staff at reception - once you find it - are great .
It was a last minute find - very cheap - we stayed one night in the large family room and had access to the club lounge and swimming pool.
The room was not 100 % clean otherwise I'd give a 5 excellent - but the loo seat wasnt clean and their was tissue in the bowl - also a childs coloured in mask was on the side ( used).

Great breakfast - super value and again, staff smashing !

Room Tip: Family room is large and is very quiet

Stayed Saturday night. Managed to get into car park and easy /friendly check in. Rooms are large and well equipped although no interesting view. It is a 2 min walk to Main Street and pleasant walking by shops and along old walls. Breakfast on Sunday was £10 per head but good quality with lots of options so was good for us. We had a couple of drinks in the bar- prices ok and we could "people watch" a wedding reception underway in one of the entertainment rooms.

we stayed here, as a family, while visiting Carfest north for the weekend. It exceded our expectations. the family room was fine, with views across the racecourse. we slept well in comfy beds. the hotel staff were very good and helpfull. when we arrived late each evening, the carpark was already full, but they sorted us out, which is what you want with a sleepy toddler and loads of baggage. we had access to refreshments in a bar, at all hours . There was a small pool and gym which i was pleased with. The breakfast was good. exactly what we wanted. Also very close to the shops etc.
